Went to ivy block party on Sunday 16th. Great stages, pool, lighting and sounds systems. However was super frustrating that there was no communication regarding stage capacities towards the end of the night. Paid $100 to see particular artists and we were told we weren’t allowed in with 0 notice or any heads up plus rude security when we expressed our confusion. Also drinks are insanely expensive, pre warning!
The ‘after party’ for the World Age Group Marathon Championships was held here. It seems a good venue for a big event like this. The finger food was a little light on and the music incredibly loud but I’m sure some people loved it. I can’t really comment on what a small group experience would be. It’s a little tucked away in a tiny lane and many of us had difficulty finding it. May return for a different experience in the future.
The music was dull, but at least there was plenty of space to dance. Prices were reasonable, and the presence of attentive security was a plus.
Honestly it’s a great venue with a lot of potential. The thing that lets it down is the lack of vibe. It’s so big that patrons are treated like cattle. Drinks are stupidly expensive. Crowd is mixed depending on the event. Sydney nightlife has so much more to offer than this place.
