Very excellent venue with live music. We had the fish and chips, along with the beetroot salad. Honestly a great combo, food was really good and relatively affordable, the red beer is a highlight.
The place was packed on Wednesday 6:30. Would recommend a booking for large groups. Spice Bag (1/5) - Followed this spot after a Reddit user made a series of posts reviewing many spice bags. Overall, I felt that the chips to chicken ratio was a bit off, making it very easy to end the meal with a basket of chips. The curry sauce had a great taste and consistency, but there was too little of it in comparison to the amount of chips. The spice bag itself had too little salt and seasoning, which was an issue with the lack of sauce provided. The onions and capscium were also not well dispersed and very clumped together. Value (whilst not factored in this score) was very strong, with one spice bag being able to feed 2 easily.
Not good experience began with going to bar and order food and the bar maid very unfriendly and quite rude, my friend and boyfriend were messing around about who was gonna pay and she told them of for waving the cards in her face, firstly they were no we’re near her face ! And secondly this was at one o clock and pub had only opened it was not as if she had been working all day and was tired 😳. The Sunday roast was so unappetizing no stuffing only one little potatoe and literally half a chicken! On the bone took up half the plate. My partner order soup to start and it didn’t come until 20 minutes after he finished his roast. Our plates didn’t get cleared for maybe 15 minutes we felt like take them up to bar ourselves as table was so small and had not much room, keep in mind there was maybe only 2 other tables eating! Also my drink was warm and had had to go back up to bar and ask for ice.
Pleasant atmosphere but the steak was disappointing, had to send back my steak after it was cooked well done instead of medium rare, got it back 10 minutes later only to hit into it again and find it was overcooked. Messing up a steak once is forgivable, twice is just a massive letdown
Welcoming authentic atmosphere, PJs serves the best version of the Irish Spice Bag I've found in Sydney. The food is on point!
