My stay at the Pullman Quay Grand was absolutely lovely. The staff and property were top-notch—clean, efficient, and genuinely thoughtful. I was even offered a complimentary bevvie from the bar, which was a kind touch after the small inconvenience of waiting for my suite to be cleaned. The room was spotless, and the jetted tub was just the ticket after a long, rainy excursion downtown. Access to key points like the international terminal, the CBD, and even across the water to Manly was a breeze straight from the hotel doors. You’ve got dining and shopping right along the docks and The Rocks, so there’s plenty to enjoy without going far. A stroll down the waterfront held stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and the Royal Botanic Gardens are just around the bend. If offered, don’t skip the brekkie! Breakfast was delicious, hearty, and offered plenty of variety—it included tea, juice, and a proper espresso. All in all, worth every cent. I’m bringing my Mum along next visit. Aloha!
Beautiful hotel with an amazing view that you could sit and watch all day long, we had the harbour view. The hotel is beautiful. The location is amazing especially with young children, you are central to everything and it’s so easy with young children for walking. Lovely stay.
The hotel is in the best location on Circular Quay, with fabulous Harbour Bridge views. The generous balcony is the perfect place to sit and have a drink and people watch, or watch the ferries come and go. The suite is huge, with a separate lounge, kitchen/ dining, bedroom and bathroom, all large and of good quality. The bathroom had a shower and spa bath. There was a laundry with washing machine and dryer in the room. There is ample hanging space for clothes, an iron and ironing board. It really is a perfect suite in an ideal location. You pay for this experience, though. Nothing is perfect, however and we had a less than ideal time during breakfast service on Christmas morning. We did not receive one of the breakfast dishes, a coffee went missing, none of the juices arrived, the scrambled eggs arrived with no toast, the crumpets had no butter, then after asking twice for butter several serves of butter kept arriving for the rest of the meal. The final juice was brought out by a kitchen hand, not a wait person. It was very disorganised and unprofessional for such an expensive hotel. And my partner took a large gouge out of his foot on the pool stairs. The tiles on the edge of the steps were dangerously sharp. We reported it and the staff seemed to miss the seriousness of the situation, stating they would put out a warning sign near the step. My partner had to climb the Harbour Bridge the next day with a foot injury and this really marred his experience.
The view from the room was outstanding, overlooking Circular Quay, the Harbour Bridge, and ferries coming in and out — truly the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, everything else fell well short of five-star expectations. Reception and room service did not pick up the phone even once, despite multiple attempts. The breakfast menu was extremely limited, and housekeeping was not done properly. If you are looking for a genuine five-star service experience, I would recommend considering other nearby hotels.
We are loyal Accor customers who picked the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbor for our visit to Sydney. Unfortunately, it was not a great choice. We booked a Garden Apartment room. The positives: the apartment has a very large living room, a decently equipped kitchen and laundry facilities; the location is superb. What could be improved: the bedroom is large but only has one small closet; the bathroom could use some updating and the shower is on the small side and leaked all over the bathroom floor when used because the door didn’t seal properly; and our toilet was wobbly and not attached to the floor. We reported the toilet issue but maintenance did not fix it during our stay. The gym is also quite small and not well equipped (e.g. no floor space to work out, no free weights). What cinched a two star review for me was the service at the hotel restaurant. On Christmas morning I stopped in to see if I could get a latte on my way out; I explained I was a guest at the hotel. I was told the machine was being cleaned and I couldn't get one for 20 min. On my way back over an hour later, I stopped in again to order one and this time got a song and dance from two of the restaurant front desk people that it wasn't possible because the machine was being used for Christmas brunch. I explained what I had been told and then they went looking for someone else; after 5 minutes of waiting I left. This was abysmal service and not what I would expect from an Accor 5 star hotel. A friend who was also staying at the hotel similarly shared a poor service experience, including a rude interaction, with one of these people.
