I booked through my credit card with my points as I probably couldn’t afford 5 nights otherwise. Definitely worth it. They upgraded me to a fancy corner room with view of Darling Harbour. Comfortable bed, amazing bathroom. Super clean. Only negative is no microwave and minimal fridge space. Breakfast buffet included a lot of food and was open past 9 unlike tiny continental breakfasts and they were very attentive. Good location in darling harbour, walkable access to ferries, shopping, restaurant (15-20min), long walk to the opera house (40 min) but doable. There’s construction happening right next to the hotel, made the pool area a bit less desirable, but by no means was that the fault of the hotel, pool was chilly but refreshing on a hot day, plenty of seating.

We’ve stayed at Sofitel in Brisbane a few times and always had a great experience, so for our first trip to Sydney, we decided to stay with Sofitel again. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint — Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour still delivers the level of quality and service you’d expect from the brand. The location was also incredibly convenient, making it easy to get around Sydney and access all the major attractions and transport options. We stayed for two nights, and the view from our room was absolutely five-star worthy. We were also lucky enough to catch a fireworks show on one of the evenings. Being able to enjoy the fireworks safely from the comfort of our room, while still feeling so close to the action, was truly amazing. The room amenities were excellent, including a pillow menu with different options to choose from — although I still brought my own personal pillow. The bed was very comfortable, with a medium-soft feel. The bathtub was lovely and relaxing, though adding a non-slip mat or grab handle would make it even better from a safety perspective. One feature I especially enjoyed was the shower setup. It had both a rainfall shower and a detachable handheld showerhead, and the water pressure was fantastic. The in-room dining service was also impressively quick, with our meals arriving within 20 minutes. Breakfast was delicious. As shown in the photos, It’s our Room 2315 during this visit.

Excellent Stay with Thoughtful Service and One Small Improvement We stayed at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and it truly lived up to its reputation. We arrived around 10am and were pleasantly surprised that our room was already ready for early check-in. My Platinum status was immediately recognised, and we were personally escorted to the 35th floor for check-in at Club Millésime. For the first time, I was given options for room upgrades rather than a standard allocation. The Korean staff member assisting us (unfortunately I didn’t catch her name) was incredibly warm, cheerful, and welcoming, which really lifted our mood after an early morning flight. Throughout the stay, the experience was excellent. Breakfast was delicious, afternoon tea was a highlight, and the Apero Chic evening offerings had plenty of variety. The bed was extremely comfortable—we honestly had to drag ourselves out for shopping and sightseeing. We also really appreciated the recognition of our Platinum status, including complimentary minibar items, a small cake for our wedding anniversary, and a bottle of wine. Even when I requested extra water, it was provided complimentary. A special mention to Brianna, who helped us smoothly change our payment to points—she was patient, efficient, and lovely to deal with. One small area for improvement: there was no bell staff offered to assist with luggage during both check-in and check-out. We had to manage 2 big suitcases, 2 cabin luggage, and 2 laptop bags between the 1st floor, 35th floor, and our room on the 20th floor. During departure, this meant going from the 20th floor up to Club Millésime on the 35th floor and then down to the lobby, which felt a bit inconvenient. It would have been more seamless to go directly to the lobby for check-out. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and one of the most genuinely welcoming hotel experiences we’ve had. We would happily return.

Stayed 3 nights with my little one and my mum during the recent school holiday, my father booked the room without checking if the room included bath tub, so it was a shame we didn't have a bathtub in the room. but the 2 double beds were huge! We asked for higher level, yet only got level 10, which is a bit of shame. But we loved our stay overall, we have always loved Sofitel, since Wentworth, we have always chose to stay for couple nights for our little holidays. We have included breakfast for all three days, and the quality of the buffet was quite good, I would say the first day was the best, the following two days, there were not many choices of nuts, and our coffee looked like was made by trainee. But overall, we loved the food there. At check out, I was told that our room included a $150 credit which we could spend at the dining or other services, but I was not informed or made aware at check in, but the lady was very nice, since I was at the check out table prior to the check out time, she suggested me to enjoy nice coffee and pastry at the cafe in the lobby and spend the $150, so it doesn't go to waste. So I did, I ordered some pastry to take home, and coffee, and the pastry were sooooo nice! Definitely recommended!!! Coffee on the other hand, was a big disappointment... Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and will definitely come back!

Never thought I’d say this about a Sofitel—especially as someone obsessed with the brand—but my last two weekends at Sofitel Darling Harbour left me genuinely shocked. I’ve stayed at Sofitel properties all over the world, including every Sofitel in Australia, and the Millésime Club at Darling Harbour was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced from the brand. Instead of the refined ambience, polished service, and effortless sophistication I associate with Sofitel lounges, the space felt chaotic and completely unmanaged. The atmosphere was closer to a horror scene than a premium club. Plates were piling up on our table and on every table around us. Guests were visibly losing their patience, and the room had none of the calm, elegant energy a club lounge should have. There was no sense of rhythm, no attention to detail, and none of the signature Sofitel finesse that usually defines the experience. The moment that truly stunned me was when a piece of fish taco fell on the floor and multiple staff members simply stepped over it. Not one person stopped to pick it up. I eventually had to ask a waiter to remove it because it was clear no one else was going to. That level of disregard would be unacceptable in a café, let alone a premium club lounge. For someone who genuinely loves the Sofitel brand, this was a harsh wake‑up call. The Millésime Club at Darling Harbour didn’t just miss the mark—it completely abandoned the standard that defines Sofitel.
