Strike is not a good place for escape rooms for the following reasons: 1) you still can hear music and bowling noise in the room which ruined the overall experience. It was also a bit hard to hear the instructions. 2) the automation sucks and it left us confused once things just opened / popped after a certain period of time. 3) unlike other venues, there is not dedicated staff watching/assist you. During briefing, the girl said you can call me, but I may not answer it… 4) both briefings at the start and in the end were less professional than other places. 5) things are less logical as you progress. Will not try escape rooms with Strike again.

So yesterday evening (Sunday) our group of mature aged (late 30s) friends decided to have a last minute few drinks and a social strike bowling with some of us driving from a distance. On arrival two from our small group were incorrectly denied entry by an unprofessional and unreasonable solo security guard. We had previously had dinner and a couple beers at a previous venue which is rather normal at a social event. The security guard said he smelt alcohol and denied entry due to this. He likely also smelt steak and chips on our breath too and it's possible he is an intense vegan. The manager came out to a growing heated and frustrating situation which I think is reasonable. However rather than make her own judgement and overrule she submitted to the security guards original decision and once again his original words were that he smelt alcohol. Consumption of alcohol is actually not illegal in Australia. At the end of the discussion when asking for his name he refused to give his name (in front of h the manager that didn't step in). When asking to see his security ID he moved away to hide it multiple times and stated that he doesn't have to show it. This is illegal actually and hence the fact that you legally have to wear it on display and not have it in your pocket. Management you will see this in your cameras if you even care. His name ended up being Muhammad. We do not recommend that you plan an evening at Strike however if you do choose to go then we recommend bringing a toothbrush. Plan social group events elsewhere otherwise you may find yourself in a similar situation with your groups plans thrown out the door. Awaiting our deposit refund as a preference over the need to contact Visa to request a Charge back of our money. Further negatively from our decision to go to Strike bowling. Denied entry from Strike bowling ✅.... What.... Ha ha ha We ended up going to the bar next door with no issues and had a lovely time there with each other. Peace ✌🏼

Escape room was great fun and prefect for a group of 5. Having drinks served to the bowling lanes is great, and the cocktails are unique in a fun way! Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This review applies generally to Strike escape rooms as I have had similar experiences in other locations. We attempted the 'Alien Invaders' escape room. We were aware it's graded hard/pro so were not expecting it to be easy. However, as someone who is quite experienced with solving escape rooms, I rate this experience poorly for the following reasons: 1. There was no dedicated game master / staff helper; I've noticed that Strike staff have to split their time across the bowling alley, escape rooms and other parts of the venue. This meant that there was no one watching in entirety to promptly help the group when needed, and also to provide relevant feedback on our efforts at the end. 2. There is an auto-solve/time-out on the puzzles which means some features open/reveal themself on their own. Often, it was not clear how something happened as it was not obvious what solution led to it. 3. The clues/puzzles weren't in logical or sequential order. There was an easy clue that we identified early in the game which apparently will not be useful until the end as it's one of the last puzzles. This meant we wasted a lot of time figuring out why our solution to the puzzle didn't result in something happening.

Went to the escape room 'old haunt' staff were friendly but the room itself being fully automated didnt give us our usual escape room experience. The puzzles solve themselves after a short time period meaning the satisfaction of finally getting a tricky one right was somewhat lost. There was also not always a logical progression of what to do next which is really useful when doing escape rooms. The bowling alley and music outside the room made it almost impossible at times to hear important information in the game
