About the venue
The Cadman is unlike any other vessel in Sydney Harbour. A genuine 4-level vessel that has a split-level mezzanine lounge, below-table height windows and a 360-degree rooftop. Commercial kitchen, a capacity for 450 guests and she is a visual Statement vessel. Private rooms are available for smaller groups to maintain intimacy, and the options for Event Staging are limitless. Unlike the open-plan Glass Function Rooms we have floating around, The Cadman has areas that you can individually theme. You can set up activity centres to keep clients entertained, for example, dining on one level, dancing on another and casino tables on yet another level. Fully enclosed on both lower decks with an added cocktail deck on the middle level I know you will be impressed.
Recently refurbished and rebranded, the iconic John Cadman III has been reborn as a modern and chilled event space now known as The Cadman. The fixtures, fittings and furniture are all modern and high quality from the entryway, dining levels, and outer decks through to the restrooms. The Cadman is a unique event space perfect for Corporate, Social and Family events with Sydney Harbour as your perfect backdrop. Boarded the John Cadman boat for a Boxing Day harbour cruise to watch the start of the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. The cruise departed some 20mins late, from a differently assigned wharf, and returned around 20mins early. Ship was registered to carry 450 passengers, but crew said they expected 500 passengers. There is not enough seating for everyone, so standing for over 2.5hrs. Food and drink was included, but the queues to get food was extra long. I have included a photo of a blocked emergency exit. The cruise stopped well away from the race start line, so most of the action was off in the distance. Price charged was $175 per head, so probably not good value for what was delivered.

Very disappointed from the start! Supposed to board at 11.30am at Wharf 6, Then told to go to wharf 3 once scanned by one poor staff member scanning hundreds of people. The boat was nothing like the picture when we booked, have a look at the photos for comparison. It was very old and painted over heaps of rust. No air conditioning which was ok once we started moving. Left 15 minutes late arrived back at least 15 mins early. Food was ordinary and not enough seating. Staff were excellent. Very deceptive advertising and not worth the money.

Amazing cruise for vivid. 360 degree views of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the drone show. A live dj on the rooftop gave an amazing vibe and patrons were having a boogie. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Boxing Day cruise to experience the start of the Sydney to Hobart! I wish I could give 0 stars Cost $150 per head unlimited drinks Advertised cruise length 11.30 to 2.30pm Actual length 12pm to 2.15pm Food, what food no announcement it was being served, by the time we walked down our choices were chicken bits, overcooked veggies, noodle slop and the scraps of what I think was a Greek salad! So much for the advertised seafood.. nothing for those who were not in the first 50 in line! Start of the race, at the back of the fleet, last boat started we turned back to the wharf, no following the fleet for us! Also NOT included, seating unless you were the first 100people on board of 300+ paying passengers! Air con also not included! Safety, no safety announcement, thank goodness there was no emergency! For a day I was truly so excited about, I have never felt so disheartened!
