The Charlie (formerly The Charleston) is nestled in the heart of Glebe and inspired by our travels through the southern states of the US. It is an ode to the beautiful colours and flavours of South Carolina. The Charlie is a second Inner-west venue from the team behind The Cottage Bar & Kitchen in Balmain. Enlisting the help of an award-winning interior designer, Matt Woods, the dramatic redesign reflects modern Southern living and is reminiscent of Charleston’s historic waterfront, pastel-coloured homes. The Charlie is by day a stunning garden bar and by night a candle-lit party under the stars, expect chilled-out vibes, wild nights and great company at this stunning Sydney dining destination. A large sky door cascades natural light throughout the intimate and laid-back venue, setting the scene for casual dining while the bar area spills onto the outdoor front terrace for alfresco drinking and dining. We had the $65 set menu and $14 unlimited drinks for 90min. Both were great value and the service was friendly. The dessert was nice though it wasn't included in the set. The serving was rather small and if we didn't order bread separately the food would not be enough. We hope they would change their set menu every month so that we could try something new next time.

Charlie Restaurant is a gem! The food is outstanding, with a fantastic variety that brings together flavors from different cuisines. The drinks are delicious, the business owner, truly knows how to create an amazing dining experience. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of dining here recently, and I can confidently say they serve the best steak in town. It's a must-try for any steak lover. The staff are friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do, which adds a personal touch to the experience. Not to mention, their drinks menu is equally impressive! Whether you're in the mood for a classic cocktail or something new, they’ve got you covered. The Charlie has truly set the bar high for dining experiences. I’ll definitely be back soon and recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional food and a great atmosphere.

We had a lovely dinner at The Charlie! It was jazz night, so we listened to lovely live music as we sat on the patio. We had sangria, steak & frites, and the creamy pasta. All were delicious!

I can’t really fault the food, had a few different tacos and some entrees and they were all nice tasted how you’d expect etc. I must say the service was a bit , in a nearly empty restaurant the wait for someone to take our order was way too long. To make matters worse I could see the floor person just sitting on their phone with her back to us. I try not to put myself in service staff shoe’s but it was a bit much. I think the place has a great vibe and huge potential and i will be back but the experience was pretty average.
