The oysters did not disappoint. They were so delicious, we ordered a second round. The server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We also shared the crab cake. It was full of crab and served on a supper yummy sauce. I especially liked it because it wasn’t full of onions or other fillers. A lovely surprised was the Smokey Whiskey Sour cocktail. 🥃 OMG. It was perfect. What you expect from a speak easy, hidden cocktail bar. Highly recommend. I’ll come back for that drink and oysters any day. Click on the photos to see what we ordered. 📸

Wow what an amazing place! We had some of the best oysters I have ever had in my life here! They were something like I have never tasted. The fish and chips were god tier and they give you a lot of food for what you pay! Well worth it! I really enjoyed the ambiance and the service was great as well! I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in Sydney!

I’m not an oyster person. My partner, on the other hand, could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So when her cravings kicked in, we found ourselves at the Morrison Oyster Bar. The first thing that struck me was the interior—bright and airy yet effortlessly inviting. It’s the kind of place that says, “Yes, we’re upscale, but you can totally wear your sneakers here.” I went with an Aperol Spritz, a bubbly and bitter classic. Served in a generously sized glass with plenty of ice and a slice of orange, it was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, not too strong—it’s like sunshine in a glass. My partner’s Grapefruit Fizz was equally impressive:a vibrant concoction with just the right mix of tartness and sweetness. Overall the drinks where light, refreshing and dangerously drinkable. The bartender asked what kind of oysters we wanted, and I—being a clueless oyster outsider—let him decide. He sent over three of each variety, which turned out to be a great call. My partner, the oyster expert, praised the freshness as some of the best she’s had. But for $6.50 a pop, she was hoping for something bigger—these were on the smaller side, though undeniably top-notch in flavor. As for me, I opted for the Polish Sausage Ritz. It was…fine. Hearty and satisfying but not exactly life-changing. Let’s just say it was no match for the oysters or the drinks. The real star of the evening, though, was the service. The bartender and waitress were not only helpful but genuinely nice, which is harder to come by than you’d think. Their warmth and attention elevated the experience, making even a non-oyster fan like me feel at ease. Would we return? Definitely—for the oysters (if you don’t mind the price) and the impeccable service. And next time, maybe I’ll skip the sausage and stick to the drinks.

went during their $1.50 oyster happy, they were all good I enjoyed this and recommend this. The beef tartare was a bit of an off colour and the bread it was served with made it quite difficult to eat, we didn’t have any knives to cut it up with so we just had to break it apart. The dish still had a nice taste though. The duck liver was okay as well, just served with some bread and wasn’t too overly salty, I guess plating could be improved though. The vine tomatoes were okay as well. The steak was also nice, I got the sirloin with the cafe de paris sauce. The sauce wasn’t too strong in taste. The chips were nice with it too. The duck ragu pasta was miss, I didn’t really taste much flavour and wouldn’t recommend this dish. Service was not too great either, staff weren’t particularly welcoming in my opinion. I felt as if they were trying to ignore me in a way. Overall considering the price point for the food I had some higher expectations. However I would recommend coming for the oyster happy hour.
