Amazing experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We tried three types of oysters, all impeccably fresh and clean. The steak tartare was delicious, with a hint of mustard that added a nice touch. The creamed spinach was outstanding. The star of the meal was the Wagyu sirloin—perfectly cooked to our request. The fries were crisp and well-fried, but unfortunately, they were overly salted, which took away from the experience.
We stopped for lunch in the city on a rainy Saturday and received a warm welcome. We enjoyed good service from a window seat. I ordered a chicken salad and my husband had the scotch fillet with Paris mash. Both meals were tasty, although a bit more mash with the steak would have been nice. For dessert, we enjoyed profiterols with ice cream and chocolate sauce, which were also scrumptious!
Stopped in for Friday night drinks during their happy hour which was improved by their free snacks. Took a seat outside which provided a great chance to people watch. Drinks were cheap $7 for spirits and wine. Service was quick and friendly. Free snacks of popcorn with a cheesy coating hit the spot. I saw some little mini burgers being bought out inside - maybe we missed those as I saw on the website that these are an example of what is on offer so maybe it’s better to sit inside. But in any case, there were plenty of servers coming out to clear tables etc and being refills of popcorn. I would def go again ! Excited to try the oyster happy hour. Bar is in a great location and looked very nice inside. The chairs at the outside tables were very comfy.
The oysters did not disappoint. They were so delicious, we ordered a second round. The server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We also shared the crab cake. It was full of crab and served on a supper yummy sauce. I especially liked it because it wasn’t full of onions or other fillers. A lovely surprised was the Smokey Whiskey Sour cocktail. 🥃 OMG. It was perfect. What you expect from a speak easy, hidden cocktail bar. Highly recommend. I’ll come back for that drink and oysters any day. Click on the photos to see what we ordered. 📸
went during their $1.50 oyster happy, they were all good I enjoyed this and recommend this. The beef tartare was a bit of an off colour and the bread it was served with made it quite difficult to eat, we didn’t have any knives to cut it up with so we just had to break it apart. The dish still had a nice taste though. The duck liver was okay as well, just served with some bread and wasn’t too overly salty, I guess plating could be improved though. The vine tomatoes were okay as well. The steak was also nice, I got the sirloin with the cafe de paris sauce. The sauce wasn’t too strong in taste. The chips were nice with it too. The duck ragu pasta was miss, I didn’t really taste much flavour and wouldn’t recommend this dish. Service was not too great either, staff weren’t particularly welcoming in my opinion. I felt as if they were trying to ignore me in a way. Overall considering the price point for the food I had some higher expectations. However I would recommend coming for the oyster happy hour.
