No doubt that The Sydney Boulevard Hotel is showing its age, but what it may lack in modern décor, it more than makes up for with its fantastic location and genuine hospitality. The hotel is conveniently situated within walking distance of Metro Woolworths, cafés, restaurants, public transport, and many of Sydney's key attractions. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, it's hard to complain about the convenience. The highlight of my stay was the warm welcome from the front desk team. If I remembered her name correctly, Lee guided me through the entire check-in process with professionalism, patience, and a friendly smile. After a long journey, that personal touch made a positive first impression and set the tone for the stay. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. While the furnishings may be a little dated, the room was well maintained and offered one thing that many newer hotels struggle to provide — space. The harbour and city views from the room were an added bonus, especially in the evening when Sydney lights up. If you're looking for a luxury boutique experience, this may not be it. However, if you value location, comfort, friendly service, and great views at a reasonable price point, The Sydney Boulevard Hotel is definitely worth considering. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Sydney.
I stayed here on one night and particularly was looking forward to stay in a room with Harbour views. Terrible check in experience, receipt staff were unfriendly and unprofessional. Checked in around 11pm. I think they were night shift staff and they were already pissed off about late shift. Regardless as a hotel guest I want to check in where I can get a good service. If I was a hotel manager I will monitor how hotel staff talk and managing hotel guest. Please give them more training and set an expectation. Hotel room should have been more clear and updated with clear carpets and comfortable beds. Rooms were not cheap, for $290 a night room should be clear and updated. I would have given one star but during checkout in the morning front desk staff were excellent. Therefore, I'm going to give this hotel 2 star. If I had good experience during check in I would have consider staying at this hotel again.
*My room was left wide open after housekeeping — a serious security lapse that should never happen at a 4-star international hotel.* I stayed at The Sydney Boulevard Hotel for 9 nights (23 May – 1 June 2026). I deliberately waited about a week after my stay before writing this review so that I could provide an unbiased assessment rather than writing purely out of frustration. THE MAJOR INCIDENT: My Room Door Was Left Open The reason for my low rating is primarily due to a major security incident that occurred during my stay. On that day, I left the hotel around 8:00 AM and requested housekeeping before heading out. When I returned at approximately 9:30 PM, I was shocked to discover that my room door had been left wide open with a door stopper in place. This means my room had potentially been accessible to anyone passing through the corridor for more than 13 hours. I immediately contacted reception, and to their credit, the duty manager arrived within approximately 10 minutes. Given the seriousness of the situation, I was extremely concerned and upset. Fortunately, after checking my belongings, I did not notice anything missing. The duty manager handled the immediate situation professionally. I was offered: - An immediate room change. - Compensation for any missing items (fortunately nothing was missing) - Complimentary breakfast as a goodwill gesture. I appreciate these efforts and the duty manager's professionalism throughout the incident. However, the reality is that none of these measures change the fact that the incident should never have happened in the first place. The room change itself was also inconvenient. It was already late at night, and by the time I packed everything and moved rooms, it was close to midnight. While a luggage trolley was provided, I had to move all of my belongings myself to a room on another floor, with no assistance offered. What concerned me even more was the hotel's inability to determine whether anyone had entered my room while it was left open. I was informed that there are no CCTV cameras covering the guest room corridors, meaning there was no way to verify whether anyone had accessed the room during those 13+ hours. I understand that mistakes can happen in any hotel. However, this is not a minor housekeeping oversight such as forgetting towels or toiletries. Leaving a guest room completely open for an entire day is a serious security failure that potentially exposes guests' belongings and valuables. While I genuinely appreciate the duty manager's efforts to resolve the situation, the incident significantly impacted my confidence in the hotel's operational and security standards. Overall Summary Pros: - Convenient location within walking distance of both Sydney CBD (about 15 minutes) and Surry Hills (about 15 minutes). - Clean rooms. - Spacious room (although I did receive a complimentary upgrade, so the standard room may differ). Cons: - MOST IMPORTANT: my room door was left wide open after housekeeping service. - Housekeeping standards were inconsistent, with missed requests, limited toiletries, and incomplete replenishment of room amenities. - Service levels fell below my expectations for a 4-star Accor-affiliated hotel.
The is located close to the city with few mins walk. We have a long stay in the hotel with great view at the harbour bridge and can see a bit of opera house. The room was clean, lot of space and quiet. My family enjoyed to see the harbour bridge every night. We would like to thanks Florian, other staffs (can’t remember other names) we at the reception that we met that they are very helpful, request easily with our demand, friendly from the start of the stay until the end
Our hotel stay was satisfactory most of the time we were there. Our accommodation was clean and tidy during our brief stay. The staff were courteous and accommodating. My only complaint was that we weren't really informed and updated that our room was ready, as we arrived at the hotel too early for check-in. It added more time for us to wait in the lobby. But these things happen.
