This is a delayed review from our stay in July, but it definitely deserves the praise. We loved the hospitality. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. We stayed as three female travellers and felt comfortable throughout the stay. The beds were big and very comfortable, which made a big difference. Parking is available, though the car park entrance is on the side, so we had to circle once or twice to find it. There were also a few stairs to carry luggage before reaching the lift, which is just something to be aware of if you have heavy bags. The gym was great, especially the nice view from the top floor. A really pleasant bonus. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and one that’s worth recommending, even months later.
Great location with easy access to Woolies, bus stop (for the Big Bus tour), cafes, Hyde Park, Australian Museum, and with the view of Sydney Harbour Bridge (fireworks on Saturday night). Friendly service and luggages can be kept at the receptionist’s with CCTV cameras on them. Check-in time is a bit late than other hotels (3pm - thanks for the correction). Facilities are not very new. Quiet enough for a good sleep.
WARNING DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL; I have stayed at this place multiple times in the past as well as with family members, and although the place itself is great, I booked this through BOOKING.com and made an error with the dates and immediately asked for a refund. This was declined on multiple occasions, even though it was clearly a mistake. I then decided to change the venue time to a month afterwards, and it was declined as well. They offer ZERO flexibility on changing dates, and if you book through a third party there is ZERO lenience on cancellation (whatever the reason may be). This is despite being an existing customer. Now i'm stuck with a booking i don't need and am not able to change (through BOOKING.com). I'm not sure how much they get out of that relationship, but they clearly give a completely different service to clients who book outside of their direct line. I have paid 950 dollars for 2 nights, and i'm not able to cancel or change the dates. Save yourself the hassle, and book through one of the Major hotels, as you don't want to be stuck in the situation that I have been. I'm happy to provide details as I'm sure even with a complaint nobody will follow up. The Hotel itself is great and I had previously enjoyed it, however the booking is completely inflexible with booking.com, and there is no person to follow up with that will have a common sense approach to this
Paying AUD 409 per night, I expected at least basic functionality and professionalism. Unfortunately, this stay has been extremely disappointing. Out of five nights, the air conditioning has failed on three to four nights. I have reported this every single day to the duty manager, Moksha, and multiple staff members. Each time I was assured it had been fixed. It is now 4:30 AM again and the AC has shut off once more. If the issue cannot be resolved, guests should not be kept in the room. At this price point, this is unacceptable. When I called reception tonight, I was told there was no duty manager available and that nothing could be done until 7 AM. The response was dismissive and frankly rude. I was effectively told to do whatever I wanted because they could not help. There is also no clear housekeeping system. There is no signage in the room to request cleaning, and unless you actively inform them, your room is not serviced. For a hotel positioning itself at this rate level, this is surprising. The room feels tired and has an unpleasant smell. There is no sense of comfort or attention to detail that you would expect at this price. Overall, this has significantly impacted my experience in Sydney. Very disappointed and would not return.
The lobby staff was very welcoming. The area in the lobby was clean. The water dispenser was a welcomed service. The buffet breakfast was very comprehensive. The service staff was genuinely friendly. The room was a nice size. The amenities were appreciated. The exercise room was well supplied with equipment. The second floor Terrace was a nice addition to my stay. The food served for our welcoming dinner was the best: the steak was cooked perfectly, the salad was freshly picked, and the hot bread was over the top.
