The starters were tasty and affordable. My vegan colleagues told me the tacos were good. The only downside was that my steak was not cooked medium. It was more like, well done. Great spot for team lunches. Would come back here and try other items.

The Kent Street Hotel does good pub food. The pub is located at street level, about a 5 minute walk from Town Hall Station. We came here for the $15 steak special as we were recommended by another family member to do so. It was a good meal. The steak was cooked well to each of our preferences. You could taste the charred flavour from the grill. There is a choice of sauce to go with the steak. I liked that it was in a side container and not poured directly onto the steak. That way the chips stayed nice and crispy. Everything was well seasoned. The steak and chips were a good temperature. There was a generous serve of mixed leaf salad with dressing. The plate was well presented too. Service was good and couldn't be faulted. We were given a friendly greeting on arrival. Staff were upbeat, friendly, helpful and courteous. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Staff also let us sit and chat and didn't hurry us to leave which I appreciated. The pub has a good vibe. The colour scheme is good. There is a mix of high stools, tables and chairs and lounge type seating. This pub is a good find and I would recommend coming. I am keen to try the other daily specials!

Serving staff were good, but this is where it ends. At $22 fish burger with tiny defrosted fish fingers, very small serve and the bread from days ago, makes it so expensive. Hygiene wise, staff shoes on food storage shelf in kitchen. You be the judge of level of the hygiene in the kitchen. And the extra surcharge fee, whatever that means. So to some up, if you want potentially unhygienic food, far from being fresh and tasty, old and low quality products… this is your place to eat!

Great $15 special burgers for lunch. It was a little noisy with music too loud but ok. Service was good and cleanliness was average. Would come back .

Monday,Wednesday & Friday they have steak,salad & chips for $15-00. The steak was cooked to perfection & had a lovely flavour.
