•The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is one of the largest botanical gardens in the world and it's home to thousands of plants and trees on over 158 acres of property. Opened in 1816, the garden is the oldest scientific institution in Australia and one of the most important historic botanical institutions in the world. In certain seasons, you can see peaches, wisteria, lotus flowers blossom, and other native plants. The gardens are a stunning setting for bronzes and sculptures by the likes of Bronwyn Oliver, Keld Moseholm, and Paul Selwood. We also have the quartz-and-sandstone Wurrungwuri which depicts an Aboriginal shield once used by the traditional owners of this land. Whether you're looking for a unique wedding venue, a beautiful corporate team-building event space, a venue with fun outdoor activities or a stunning location for your next launch party, the venue's team can help you make your vision a reality. The Garden is a beautiful venue for events of all sizes. It has a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces that can be shaped to fit the needs of your group. Our staff members are trained in the art of hosting weddings, product launches, fashion parades, team-building workshops and conferences. The layout is thoughtfully designed, with wide, accessible paths that lead you to various themed sections, peaceful ponds, and vibrant displays of flora. It’s the perfect spot for a photo or to simply sit and marvel at the scenery. There’s also plenty of open space to relax, have a picnic, or enjoy some quiet time surrounded by nature. What truly sets the garden apart is how well-maintained it is. The cleanliness, clear signage, and informative plaques make exploring both enjoyable and educational. It’s a free attraction, which is amazing considering the level of care and beauty on display. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, the Royal Botanic Garden is a must-see. It’s a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city and a shining example of Sydney’s natural and cultural charm. A well-deserved five stars!
Beautiful botanical gardens on Sydney Harbour. Great walks in the garden, sprawling views of the harbour from various vantage points. The entrance beside the Opera house is close to public transport (ferry, train, light rail) at Circular Quays.
Beautiful botanical gardens and Park which is a nice tranquil oasis right next to the CBD of Sydney and contains some really nice plants! It's also the perfect place to take photos of both the opera house and bridge at the same time!
I visited the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney for the first time recently, and let me tell you, it was a total game-changer! I picked a spot right by the Opera House, so I had the most amazing view of the harbor bridge. The trees provided the perfect shade, and I swear, the birds there are so used to humans, they're practically posing for photos! It felt so peaceful and natural, even in the heart of a busy city. I saw people enjoying picnics, couples getting cozy, and everyone just taking in the beautiful scenery. As the sun set, the city lights turned on, and the whole place looked magical. If you ever find yourself in Sydney, you absolutely have to check this place out. You won't regret it!
I can't believe a resource like this is free! The gardens are beautiful, grand, and you can get amazing views of the Opera House (from the back) and of the water. There are plenty of birds here so it was fun to see birds I've never seen before. Beware there are also a lot of spiders...... I was afraid of getting too close to any plants I wanted to admire because I saw so many massive webs and spiders on them. You will also not catch me going down any side paths because who knows what's lurking in there. The gardens have a large variety of plants, trees, and flowers, but because I went in the heat of summer, there weren't many flowers bloomed. Nevertheless, still a pleasant place to have a stroll and the trees provide plenty of shade if you want to sit on the lawn, because hilariously all of the benches I saw were always placed in direct sunlight 😂 Admission is free (I still can't believe it), you don't need to buy any tickets, and you can enter from any of the gates closest to you. Be careful to note the closing times because they change according to the seasons (they close at sunset).
