Loved our weekend here. The Marriott is the perfect location for the Opera House, especially if you have an event to go to, ours was Gregory Porter. The room was large and very comfortable and clean. The cafe/bar down stairs was perfect to get coffee or an afternoon drink. The service was outstanding. Highly recommend this hotel for its location and service.
I had a 2-week business trip to Sydney and stayed at this property. I have permanent Titanium status and have stayed at many Marriott properties. I have to say that Solomon is the best concierge I have ever met. He was very friendly and engaging and managed to get us tickets to the symphony when it was reportedly sold out. The lounge staff are amazing. Since my first stay at this hotel in 2013 it is startng to show signs of age, but the location and service really stand out.
The staff here are genuinely incredible. They will go out of their way for you as much as they can. I have never met kinder staff at a hotel, but Marriott is known for their hospitality and kindness. The rooms are pretty average considering the price of the hotel. The beds are comfortable but the rooms themselves are small and outdated. Even the hallways, walls, and decor seem outdated and in need of renovation. The walls are also quite thin and I could hear people in the hallways and in the rooms next to us if they were not being quiet, which again for the price is a bit annoying. All things considered, everything else about my stay was phenomenal! Room service is fast, surprisingly delicious, and not incredibly overpriced. The restaurant downstairs is also great and was always filled with people which goes to show how nice it was. The staff continued to go above and beyond throughout my entire stay, even gifting me wine for my birthday, changing my room to a view of the harbour, and delivering extra amenities when we ran out. The location is amazing, the staff are unbeatable, and the view is so nice! Thank you Marriott !
Very good hotel. My room had some aged elements, but it was nicely mixed with modern/refreshed elements. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Full-scale fitness center, a pool you can actually swim in and a small sauna (separated for male/female). Staff is very professional and polite.
Great location and service. Upon arrival you’ll be greeted by their beautiful lobby and since we came straight from the airport and a bit early they still allowed us to check in while they prepared the room. We were also able to leave our luggage then grab some food and by the time our room was ready all we had to do was get the keys and the luggages were brought up to the room. This hotel is in a great location and walking distance to nearby cafes and restaurants, shops as well as public transportation which is a great plus.
