Me and my husband had our 26th wedding anniversary stay here for 3 nights and we received first-class service from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The facilities were top-notch, and the view from our room was simply stunning. We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were luxurious and spotless. The hotel was in the perfect location, close to all the major attractions. Our stay was absolutely perfect. We can't wait to stay here again! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
We recently stayed at the Shangri-La Sydney for three nights. We accepted an offer to upgrade our room from the 5th to the 22nd floor for an additional $40 per night, which we found to be excellent value. The view from the higher floor was beautiful, and the hotel's location is very good. We were impressed by how quiet the room was; the air-conditioning and fridge operated silently, and traffic noise was unnoticeable. While amenities like razors and combs weren't in the room initially, they were available upon request. The breakfast selection was very good, and we found the staff to be consistently helpful and polite. The bed linen was clean, although the mattress in our room seemed to have some indentations, it remained comfortable overall.
A relaxing short getaway turned into a series of stressful experiences. We received no help with our luggage and stroller, my hub has to unload everything upon arrival and a trolley was only made available upon request. The check-in process was lengthy, it took around 30min with long queue behind and toiletries given were not sealed, raising concerns about their cleanliness, compared to our previous stay at Pudong Shangri-La, which provided L'Occitane products and it has a seal in every products. The room is not clean either with dust everywhere. Luckily just one night stay. Besides, what makes it unacceptable was we were given an expired baby kit from 2022, also a blank birthday card, and four small pieces of sponge cake that looked unappetizing to celebrate our special occasion. We do appreciate they offered us a bottle of red wine and their signature room diffuser but we would rather had a great stay than showering us with gift for the poor service and chaotic. Additionally, another shocking event was during breakfast at Café Mix, we found hair in the grilled mushrooms. When we brought this to the attention of the chef at the egg station, he merely expressed surprise and discarded the dish without further inquiry or explanation. This experience does not align with the expectations of a five-star hotel. Also we went to 36th floor at night, although one female staff member acknowledged us, she did not greet us, which added to the feeling of being unwelcome. At checkout, we shared our concerns with the front desk staff and were assigned to a guest relations manager, whose willingness to understand our experience seemed questionable, and she did not introduce herself properly nor did she ask about our stay. Overall, the staff's attitude was unfriendly and unwelcoming except the front desk which is helpful in checking us in. Totally a disappointing staycation
My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at this hotel during our anniversary getaway. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. We were pleasantly surprised when a bottle of wine was sent for us in our room as a thoughtful anniversary gift from the hotel—such a lovely personal touch! The location couldn’t have been better; it was just a short walk to the iconic Harbour Bridge climb and close to so many fantastic shops, restaurants, and attractions in the city. We truly felt like we were in the heart of everything. The view of Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge from our room window was such a delight . We’ll definitely be returning for another stay soon! Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a personal touch.
We certainly had a memorable and meaningful stay at Shangri-La Sydney Hotel. This was our first visit to Australia during a special occasion as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. Room was spacious and very clean and the Buffet breakfast at Cafe Mix excellent. Location is pretty nice around The Rocks and Circular Quay. We would definitely choose this hotel if we returned to this splendid and charming city again. Very grateful to Shangri-La Sydney Hotel Staff! Edwin & Joham Rivera Utah, USA
