Fancy foyer gave me too higher hopes. Great customer service. Restaurant not open Sunday Mondays which was a huge bummer. The rooms were nice, especially the bathroom but on the small side. TV remote didn’t work. Coffee and tea but No cutlery in rooms, not even tea spoons. Bed was meh, pillows and toilet paper felt cheap. Good location. No toilet plunger in room 3.5/5
Disappointed with this hotel. I tried to book over the phone but was told that to receive the member's price I needed to book online, so I did making sure I added the request for twin bed set up. Upon arrival I was given a room with 1 bed. I asked at reception for this to be changed. I was informed I'd booked a queen room so I would need to change to a king room and an additional $30 was required for the room change. Maybe if I was able to book by actually talking to a person this could have been sorted initially. So, I moved rooms, no biggy. Rooms are tiny and basic , but are neat and clean. Location is excellent. Very central. Parking was included in my membership. That's the end of the good points. Now to the most disappointing feature. The air conditioning unit in this room , which I had to have running as it was a very hot night, was so ridiculously loud that you just couldn't sleep. My friend and I spent a sleepless night listening to the air con from hell go through its cycle on cooling, stopping, cooling. Yes we tried to leave it off and open the windows, but there are no flyscreens so mozzies started flying in. Would never stay here again if all rooms have these loud air con units. Paid $190 to not sleep. Kept thinking.. just leave and drive home.. I basically slept the whole next day once I did get home. My friend had to go to work so they just struggled through. Tip. Turn on the air con when you first arrive to assess its volume.
Beds are very soft and you can feel the springs. Rooms are tiny but have nice finishings. The shower will soak the whole bathroom even with the door closed. Staff are great and there's a good restaurant on the ground level. Oh and there's only one lift, the other one has been out of order for both stays, about 6 months apart.
Very nice hotel, perfectly located. Only 1 min walk from all the bars and lots of restaurants. The room was small but a very comfortable bed, nice shower and free coffee/tea. However, checking in was a bit chaotic and we had to pay an additional $25 for parking although it was advertised as free parking. He said there was free street parking but it was busy and no parking available near by the hotel. I think $25 is a bit much for parking when the room wasnt that cheap either.
If it’s location your after the hotel is close to everything if it’s space in the room don’t bother they are small, room was clean, air conditioning was so noisy and can still here noises on the street. Plus was the king bed and pillows were super comfy. Also much to our dismay we were woken up by an emergency evacuation alarm at 615am which turned out to be a false alarm not happy after a big night to be woken on a Sunday morning in this way no direction from staff as being mainly self check in there was no one available for the price we paid was disappointed. The check in / check out process was however quick and easy but think I prefer to have reception available. No Iron in room either.
