May wife and I stayed last night at this Totto Hotel. I booked via my Expedia Account. The hotel is classified 4 star, in my humble opinion it doesn't deserve even 2, I know because I stayed in hundreds of hotel globally while managing conferences and exhibition Group. Here are a short list of discomforts: 1. There no phone in the rooms! Yes no freaking phones! 2. We had to call via reception to ask a missing air conditioning remote control! 3. No pens, pencils or papers. 4. Nothing provided in the bathroom but body soap and shampoo in bulk dispensers. 5. As there are no chairs to watch the TV we had to sit on bed, and funny enough the bed did not stay still. I had to rest the bed's wheels in my SHOES to keep still! 6. Breakfast was about $35 per head and you most definitely get better value at a motel or Macca. 7. The quality of the bed and pillows provided is quite below such rating. 8. I was charged $25 for overnight parking, I couldn't recall seeing this charge on Expedia. 8. There are more things to list... We will never stay here ever again.
I don’t understand the bad reviews about Hotel Totto. The room was clean and comfortable. While on the smaller size, it was fit for purpose and matched the price. The noise of the air conditioner was the only comment I could make that isn’t positive. The staff were accommodating, available and pleasant. The pizza at the restaurant was authentically Italian and the coffee was outstanding. The location couldn’t have been better. I have high standards for accommodation and I was happy and satisfied with Totto
Was told I could check in midday as I had arrived after a long flight but only got my room at 3pm and only after I asked reception. I stayed 3 nights and housekeeping never cleaned my room or provided fresh towels. This was despite 3 reminders and constantly checking with reception. There was a cockroach in the bathroom on day 2 and I told reception but nothing was done. Beds not made and coffee sachets not replenished. No cupboards or drawers in the room. Instead a metal grid on the wall where one is supposed to hang clothes? Very inconvenient and disappointing as I had come for an event and needed to hang clothes up. I rang the hotel the day before arrival requesting an iron. Nothing was provided even after 2 requests and I ended up having to take an iron and ironing board I found in the hallway propped up against the wall. Staff were friendly enough and the Negroni was one of the best I’ve had and food was good too. However, the overall impression was dismal especially when the room rates were not cheap. Won’t be coming back to this place. A friend’s shower barely worked and requests for toilet paper fell on deaf ears. Instead, she got free coffee and egg and bacon rolls. I don’t understand.
This place is the biggest rip off of a hotel I have ever seen. The rooms are tiny - as in you can barely walk around the bed, claustrophobic tiny. They are trying to do this awkward “customers check themselves in thing” which is fine for a budget hotel but this place does not charge budget prices. I’m ok with this quality of service and tiny rooms but they charge like you’re staying at the four seasons and think their tiny, tacky rooms are worth it. It’s a joke. Furnishings and fittings were cheap and tacky. Features and basic items usually found in hotels like a wardrobe, chair, ironing board etc were not provided. Rooms were tiny. The service was ok but again they are trying to eliminate that to an extent. And then they think they can charge top prices. Crazy!!!! Do not stay here if you have any other options.
Very mid experience, stayed in Wollongong as it was a bit cheaper than Sydney but after staying there one night, we figured we should’ve spent a little more somewhere else and actually felt comfortable in our rooms. Not terrible price, as we had parking, breakfast, drink on arrival and a $25 food/drink credit. The espresso martini was the best I’ve had The buffet was cold, yet we were one of the first to arrive, eggs are cooked to order but came out so much later and were very undercooked, my partner had poached eggs and they popped over his bread and the plate was covered in water. The coffee was terrible, they girl at the bar/desk was super lovely and remade it but it was not drinkable. The rooms are way too small for 2 people to be comfortable, no hanging space, the beds are as old as the building, the the sheet on the mattress was a flat sheet and just came off, the duvet had what looked like blood stains on it, pillows were terrible, the bathroom was okay but I’m 5’2 and average weight and I could barely turn around in the shower without touching the walls, the water pressure was horrible and it was either boiling hot or freezing cold, and the entire floor was covered in water after coz the gaps are massive. The room overall was so small but mostly just felt disgusting and dirty. Did not wake up feeling refreshed and didn’t get out of the shower feeling clean, the cups were too dirty to use, so gross!! Pretty disappointing experience, considering we traveled 6 hours either way and had a couple big days of walking etc, then coming back to a crappy room the cost $260+ per night. The staff were pretty helpful and definitely nice, it’s just a shame the rooms are so neglected and dirty. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy and relax
