Great location if you choose an ocean view room with a balcony. The windows in the bedroom I could barely see out of as they were so dirty. The room was so cold but you could not turn the air-conditioner off and you cannot open a door due to the condensation. There are no blankets provided in the room and towels are not refreshed unless you have a stay of seven days. We stayed for four nights and our towels were not replenished during this time. Otherwise great to have a laundry in your room so you can wash your dirty clothes, the shower is on the small side, the bed was large and comfortable, the balcony was nice enough but very small. The kitchen was well enough equipped however we had to ask for coffee on two occasions and obviously had to go and buy our own milk. A bit disappointing to not have a restaurant or any type of bar facility where you can go and get a drink or a snack after a day of sightseeing.

We regularly stay at Mantra's as they have always been of high quality & a good experience. But Mantra on the Esplanade is Very tired & disappointing. Reception looks like a temporary building site, using and old coolroom to hold luggage. I booked a qeen harbour view room and got two single beds. The windows were that dirty, you couldn't see through them to the harbour. No plates or cutlery in the room. No restaurant or Cafe at the hotel either. The secure under ground car parking was filthy. It had the stench of feral cats, of which two were laying dead on the floor. Old fridges/furniture were stored in a park adjacent to the lifts and there was human faeces along the rear wall. Disgusting. 🤢🤮

I’m staying here now and I’m loving it. I don’t need luxury or service, therefore this is more than what I expected. Very reasonably priced for a suite with more than the basics. Just spent 3 hours in the pool. Great location, I will return. I loved the spirit of Darwin. People are nice, no frills and I felt very relaxed here. PS - Someone mentioned that there is no clothes line but in my suite the clothes line is over the bathtub, opposite the washing machine and dryer. In my hay day I used to stay in backpackers, so I’m impressed! :)

Staff are nice. Hotel itself is pretty standard. View overlooking the water is good but the interesting architectural choice of covering 2/3 of the window with slates gets in the way of the view! Restaurant was undergoing reno's when I was there so no onsite food. Not a big deal but something to consider. Location is good, central to most things and easy to get in and out of. King bed option is 2 singles together TV is small Shower is average/bad Fridge is big for a hotel and holds lots of stuff Room size is good

Despite telling them I'd be arriving after Midnight (in response to their welcoming email), I arrived to find I couldn't get in. The security guard let me in only to find that Reception wasn't staffed during the wet season. overall 70mins to check in (I got to a room after 1 am). It was all downhill from there.
