I’m staying here now and I’m loving it. I don’t need luxury or service, therefore this is more than what I expected. Very reasonably priced for a suite with more than the basics. Just spent 3 hours in the pool. Great location, I will return. I loved the spirit of Darwin. People are nice, no frills and I felt very relaxed here. PS - Someone mentioned that there is no clothes line but in my suite the clothes line is over the bathtub, opposite the washing machine and dryer. In my hay day I used to stay in backpackers, so I’m impressed! :)
Staff are nice. Hotel itself is pretty standard. View overlooking the water is good but the interesting architectural choice of covering 2/3 of the window with slates gets in the way of the view! Restaurant was undergoing reno's when I was there so no onsite food. Not a big deal but something to consider. Location is good, central to most things and easy to get in and out of. King bed option is 2 singles together TV is small Shower is average/bad Fridge is big for a hotel and holds lots of stuff Room size is good
Clean and good location. 3/5 Rooms in need of renovations. Need to simplify the late check in process (7pm) as there are too many different numbers on the front door to call, some of which do not work, plus the intercom also doesn't work. Thank you!
December 20th. Gosh what a disappointment. On arrival for an 8 day stay we were asked which day we would like our room cleaned. Yes ONE day in 8 is all you get. In the lifts there are signs that tell you to take your rubbish to the bins in the basement!! Shower over high bath very difficult for our age. Several hairline cracks in wash basin. Chair old and threadbare. We asked for at least towels every day and got them some days. They were put on the bed and old towels not removed. At one stage we had 6 towels 10 bathmats 6 handtowels and four washers. We had to ask for tissues and toilet paper. When sheets were replaced on selected day, after being reminded, one sheet had a hole in it. Never again!! Most staff were lovely. There was a pamphlet saying dint put rubbish or wet towels in the hall.
I didn't live up to the expectations from website. Quite dated, really shitty cheap coffee and paying $20 extra per night to park car was too steep. Have stayed at many better places in Darwin for less.
