I just had a really good black Angus rump steak. It came with chips and salad and was cooked to perfection. The mushroom sauce that came with it was very good also. The Mount Gravatt hotel is trying to do their best with the great service also.
What on Earth is ‘tomato salsa dipping sauce’? It was meant to come with the vegetarian spring rolls, however it was definitely sweet chilli sauce. The spring rolls were very good - you get 4 of them for $16. $4 for one spring roll. The $18 vegetarian pizza was skimpy on the toppings and the base tasted like thawed out store-bought stuff. It wasn’t awful. There was a nice flavour in it, just a bit skimpy on toppings and the base kinda iffy. Good special on Great Northern Original $7 a schooner. Beautiful beer, nice and cold. The acoustics are delightfully atrocious in the dining room - I wasn’t even wearing my hearing aids yet I could clearly hear 2 different conversations going on at tables two away from my own. The staff are lovely. Only one disabled parking space out the front; and few spaces for others - however plenty of parking out the back but you have a bit of a walk back to entry. There is a way to get in through the back, which should be worked out easily enough, however that gate is currently inaccessible. Might take some planning to sort that out. Overall I love the perfect imperfections of this pub and the fact that it’s not all modernised like so many other pubs in the area … and I look forward to returning to try out some other food on the menu.
Really helpful and patient staff, beautiful food (big servings!), and VERY yummy cocktails. The quietly busy atmosphere means you can have a conversation without yelling. They have both kids and seniors options that are great value. Kid's playground looks awesome.
I thought to write a review for the excellent service we received tonight. Maddie served us throughout the night and we really appreciated her care and for apologising for a small kitchen mistake which she handled straight away. She made us laugh and was a great vibe throughout the pub, love the service!
I love the mt gravatt pub. It’s an extension of my living room with amazing people slinging beers.
