Very light and airy. Did a walkin with 3 on a Sunday morning and nabbed a table. If you want a table away from pets that are brunching with their owners, then book a table closer to the kitchen. My mushrooms were yummy, the duxelle made it and the egg was cooked perfectly. Friend had the lobster roll and it was apparently delicious. The chocolate garden was a bit small for the price. The coffee was ok, bit of an interesting aftertaste but my palate might be a bit under-refined, who knows. The staff were friendly but tricky to get service. Overall, would happily return.
The Lobster roll is unexpectedly amazing. Coming from Canada, I know a thing or two about lobster 🦞. The small dash of caviar on the lobster makes it feel a little fancy. Glad I went for this dish vs the Angus burger. The place is a lot quieter after 1pm as the kitchen closes at 2pm for lunch service.
If you’re a coffee lover, you’ll enjoy the variety of options they offer. The food is also quite tasty. I ordered a juice without ice (as I have a sore throat) and was informed that, without ice, the juice quantity would be reduced. However, as you can see in the photo, about one-third of the juice is actually ice, which doesn’t make much sense to me since I paid for the juice, not the ice. For this reason, I’m not giving 5 stars.
IBN is a delightfully bright and airy space to spend time with friends and really *really* good coffee. The service was relaxed, attentive and efficient despite most tables being full. While there's obvious aspirations to greatness for the kitchen with some interesting and enjoyable foams and presentation, the dishes I tried mostly missed the mark for me. In hindsight I possibly should have guessed it wasn't the right venue to try an 'Everyday Muffin' which was dry and flavourless despite containing a crunchy, freshly cooked hash brown. It's possible we were also unlucky with our other choices, but my impression was that the person who created the menu wasn't in the kitchen that day.
Lovely staff, great coffee and the opportunity to work from a place that is not my office is absolutely priceless. I enjoy coming here to have a break from work and do some work! lol! Thank you for providing a great space to do that
