The Royal Exchange Hotel is synonymous with Queensland's entertainment scene for locals, visitors and students across the city.
Sitting on High Street in Toowong, just off the banks of the Brisbane River, we're renowned for our relaxed atmosphere, huge selection of ice cold beer on tap, live entertainment and of course, our giant Beer Garden.
We've been a local institution since 1876, and remain one of Brisbane's last iconic pubs today.
Despite the changes we've gone through over time, we've retained our unpretentious atmosphere and charm, which is why generations of locals, students and visitors continue to return.

"Wow, what an exceptional dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish expertly prepared and presented. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. But what really made our visit stand out was the fantastic atmosphere. The venue was stylish and welcoming, with a great vibe that made us feel right at home. A special mention must go to Ash Harding, the Venue Manager, who was instrumental in making our experience so memorable. Ash's attention to detail, warm hospitality, and dedication to excellence are a credit to the establishment. Overall, we can't fault this place and can't wait to return. 5 stars isn't enough - we'd give it 10 if we could! Keep up the fantastic work, and thanks again to Ash and the team for a truly unforgettable evening."

I really love the sandwich. I tried lots of sandwiches. This is one of my favourite sandwiches. And the atmosphere is amazing too.

Came in for a cheeky feed and you did not disappoint! Had a steak and it was cooked to perfection. Cheap beers, amazing food, great atmosphere and fantastic service, what more could you want! Will definitely be back cheers team!

If I could leave more than a 5 star review I would. I went into the gaming room and was approached by the gaming manager Dee with the warmest smile and very bubbly personality, I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service. I will definitely be back to the Re in the future.

Attended this pub Wednesday evening for a late beer / play some pool with my mate after work. Neve in my life have I ever been asked to leave a pub. My mate ordered a jug and we sat down to drink it and the bouncer approached and started asking about my boots we were both dressed as tradesman. He then informed us to leave, before we could even finish our judge plus the pub was empty. I asked to speak to the manager and he refused. We walked out he push me from behind and I said there was no need to touch me. He responded I’ll touch you if I like. Seriously applauding behaviour on all fronts and will never go here again. Maybe you could have your security at the door and say they don’t allow tradesmen with boots BEFORE they order a beer.
