We came on a Saturday for lunch and originally sat out the front where we had some food and drinks. The menu looks interesting but when the food came out the tastes are just all wrong and quite small in size. We tried the chicken and Brie croquettes, which just tasted odd, fried baby squid, pork belly twisties which were okay, but strange flavours again, even the chips were average. We then went upstairs for drinks and it had a great vibe so stayed for a little longer. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t have a bad time, it was the food that was the let down, sometimes keeping it simple is better. There was also a number of beggars asking for money when we sat out the front which is probably a sign of the area so to avoid I would sit inside or on the roof top.
Portion sizes were pretty huge so it's value for money, ordered using the QR code on the table and food came out nicely timed but the bar was busy and missed the drinks order so that's something to consider. Atmosphere: well it was an old pub at 6pm on a Friday - good buzz of conversation around, lots of people getting off work. All in all a good experience.
The atmosphere of the pub was really nice, the staff were lovely and I appreciate the efforts of all involved. Unfortunately I bought the Brisket and Guinness pie and was left disappointed as there really wasn't much flavour. I enjoyed the minted peas on the side along with the Guinness sauce/gravy amongst the mashed potato, but the pie itself was very wet and had no real flavour. The beef brisket itself was cooked well and also the presentation was nice but alas, for $30.00 you'd expect a bit more from the flavour department.
Held my daughter's 21st birthday party here and was beyond impressed with the function coordinator's professional communication and prompt responses to ensuring our event went smoothly. The bar staff were very friendly and accommodating which added to such a great impression on all of our family and guests. Coupled with a great atmosphere, I would highly recommend this hotel and the staff are such an integral asset to the establishment.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff are kind and polite. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and of high quality, so I highly recommend it.
