I recently had the pleasure of staying at the InterContinental Adelaide, overall, it was a positive experience. The hotel boasts a convenient location, making it easy to explore the surrounding area & a good locaiotin for my business activities. While the hotel does show signs of age and could benefit from some modern updates, it is exceptionally clean, and all services are functioning perfectly. This attention to cleanliness is commendable and contributes significantly to the comfort of guests. The gym particulary has good facilties and is in good order. The hotel bar is a highlight, offering a nice atmosphere for relaxation and socializing, though it is on the pricier side. It’s an ideal spot for enjoying a drink at the end of the day. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although they echo the hotel's dated aesthetic. Personally, I found the bed to be a bit too hard for my liking, but I understand that comfort preferences vary. One of the standout aspects of my stay was the attentive service throughout the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring that all my needs were met during my visit, in particular the breakfast service and offerings. Overall, considering the price, cleanliness, comfortable & environment, I would not hesitate to stay at the InterContinental Adelaide again. It's a solid choice for anyone.
This place is just looking a bit tired. In its day I'm sure it would have been lovely but now it's just average. Most of the staff were nice and polite. Access to walking along the river was lovely though and ease of getting Ubers and getting around was pretty good.
Two nights were booked at this hotel, 1 week apart. The reception, bar and lobby staff were polite and gave good service. Our room clean & comfortable. When we went to the lobby restaurant at the booked time. The pre ordered meals were apparently not transmitted to the kitchen staff, and we had 2 hour wait for dinner. No apologies, just left sitting , waiting. Assured by staff as we left hotel that this would not occur on our return visit. Same problem, from ordering to main meal , 2 hours wait. Something definitely wrong with evening meal service. At breakfast, pleasant, attentive staff, with great service.
It didn't start well - a 20 minute wait sitting in the car in the driveway until the valet parking people got to me. Then I waited 25 minutes in the line to check in at the front desk no line for IHG priority members to be seen. With the line not moving I asked the concierge if I could check in at the executive lounge... he made a phone call and that was fine. After this everything was great. The room is furnished in an older style but is kept very well and is a wonderful size. Great shower pressure as well which is nice. The executive lounge has an old-style club feel and the evening canapes and morning breakfast there were great. I have to single out Daniel and Yuki in the executive lounge... Both offered fantastic service and are a real asset to the team there. When I was feeling grumpy about the arrival experience Daniel made everything better in a flash. I will definitely come back again however I do have to take one star off for the awfully slow valet service and lack of organization upon arrival with regards to checking in - especially for a high level loyalty member.
Recently stayed. Rooms slightly dated but still very comfortable. Great location, would gladly return. My room was on the 18th floor with great views. I enjoyed the heated outdoor pool too, 3 swims in one day.
