Had a business meeting scheduled at the Playford for the morning so decided to make it a quick couples getaway and stay the night. Exceptional service. Lunch at Luma spectacular. Super lovely and very clean room and bathrooms. Comfy bed and pillows. High quality, low tox toiletries. Wonderful atmosphere. A lot of steps/stairs to negotiate to access pool/spa, restaurant/bar etc. Loud air-conditioning.
The Playford Hotel is a beautiful, well-maintained property that truly delivers a luxury experience. The rooms are ultra-luxurious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making the stay feel special from start to finish. The sauna and pool facilities were excellent and added to the overall experience. What really stood out, though, was the front desk service. Reece was exceptional — incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely great at making conversation. He is a shining star and a real asset to the hotel. Overall, this hotel clearly benefits from strong management and attention to detail. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a refined, luxury stay.
I often stay at the Playford on my work trips to Adelaide. It’s well located in central Adelaide with easy access and parking. The hotel is well maintained and rooms are modern. The gym facilities are excellent, and there is a coin operated laundry which is super handy for longer stays. The service is always friendly no matter the time or day. My only constructive feedback is to expand the room service menu which has been the same for some time (maybe a few more salads or a pasta dish would be appreciated!)
The hotel was very expensive and totally not worth is. We made the reservation from America and when we arrived , there was not a door person or porter. the desk person was nice and friendly. We took our suitcases to our room , and the suite we had prepaid for was a bit like out of a 1980’s movie set, or an adult film set. It was kitch late 80’s. The view from both rooms of the suite is of the parking garage. It was dark and gloomy. We hear some noise from a nearby night club. I would never stay at this Adelaide Luxury Hotel again. The reception desk was nice and friendly. We did not have breakfast in the hotel because it seemed like it would be very disappointing, so we went to a nicely rated spot and walked through the sketchy neighborhood of the Hotel. It all was a lesson.
We stayed for 6 nights. The location was central to the city centre making it convenient to drive and explore the Adelaide Hills, Barossa and McLaren Vale regions. The King room was comfortable and the restaurant had a great fine dining experience. We were provided an upgrade but did not like the upgraded room (you had to go up the stairs to the bedroom whilst the sitting area and bathroom was downstairs) so asked to be moved to a standard king room where all the facilities were on one level. Staff were attentive and helpful during our stay.
