The rooms were dated but clean and very spacious. The hall areaa outside the rooms had a feel of a dormitory/prison, not great but served a purpose. The grounds were very good and location absolutely fantastic. I had breakfast one day and got there early - queues were fine and food choices were good. Would happily return if I visited Lorne again.
Very happy with the room and given a free upgrade for one of the nights. We had a resort room with ocean view. Reception was very helpful. Loved the heated mineral pool and spa- best used early in the morning if you want to do laps. Only one half on the spa jets were working but they were excellent strength. Women's changeroom had very slippery floor tiles- not the best choice for a wet area and was small with only one shower.. super close to the shore and we could hear the sounds of the ocean with our window open. Just don't open it wide enough for the cheeky cockies to enter as one got in and made a big mess all over the floor of our chips and pop corn! Worth noting, your car park may be un named as some are not designated to the rooms. Unimpressed with the in house breakfast buffet and the service in that area of the resort. Wouldn't bother again. Lovely sunrise from our room. Loved the cute ducks around the place. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
I came to Lorne from Texas, USA, for a wedding and I was so impressed with the Mantra Lorne from my arrival until I left. Comfortable room, amazing view, spacious bathroom, literally anything I could need for my stay. The location was perfect for catching the surfing competition on Saturday, and an easy walk to all kinds of great restaurants. I hate that I only had a long weekend there, but next time I'm in Australia, I'll definitely make it a point to be back at this hotel.
The Mantra Lorne is Well located, has great, expansive grounds & is full of friendly & helpful staff. The only negatives (& I am being picky here) are that the rooms seemed smaller & older in real life vs how they are presented online & the breakfast didnt have the variety I am accustomed to...but these are minor. Overall it was fabulous!
Great location to Main Street and the beach. The buffet breakfast was fantastic and the pool is a great option on colder days. The sofa bed in our room was too thin and uncomfortable to sleep on unfortunately so 3 of us crammed into one bed for two nights. The shower head had next to no water output which was very frustrating considering how much we paid for our room but Otherwise we had a great stay and would recommend to others. It’s my understanding that they’re redoing aspects of the hotel, hopefully the showers and sofa beds are replaced.
