Stovetop Carlton. Is it Carlton’s Cheers? Maybe? Without implying Ted Danson and Shelley Long hang out here, Stovetop definitely is the kind of neighbourhood spot where “everyone knows your name”. And if not name, then definitely your coffee order. Stovetop is cosy, warm, inviting, and boasts a menu ridiculously stocked with delicious goings-on. Inside, Stovetop is as easy-on-the-eye and cosy as one would expect an immediately-well-loved new Carlton cafe to be. Slightly rustic, slightly filled with well-designed modern interior, definitely smells delicious. You know the drill, coffee machine pumping, new cakes and slices made daily, crazy busy during lunch time, a loyal following. Combine that with the fact that the space is a delightful spot for a function, and you’ve got yourself a winner. Stovetop is found on Leicester Street, Carlton. Near Melbourne University, that’s between Queensberry and Pelham Streets. The 19 and 59 trams will get you nearby, as well as all the trams that roll up and down Swanston Street.
