Hiding away on the second floor of Melbourne’s iconic Curtain House is The Toff in Town. The Toff features two distinct spaces both available for events. Boasting one of Melbourne’s best line-up of DJ’s and well embedded as one of the cities favourite live music and festival venues, the Toff delivers a unique atmosphere and invites you in for a glamorous evening of dinner, drinks and dancing.  The Stage-side is a large open performance space that can accommodate a diverse range of events with stage and lighting facilities. The Carriage-side is home to our stylish cocktail bar, and private train-like carriages (or booths) available for dinner or cocktail reservations. The Toff’s kitchen is proudly Thai and offers a playful range of menu items including canapes, bar snacks, and more substantial main courses.

I was actually intrigued by the lighting and the small private booths. It felt like it was more designed for couples with the vibe it sets. I personally liked the decor and just had a drink from the bar. The food menu did not seem to attract my attention and just seemed abnoxiously expensive. Even their drinks were on the higher end. They do have other events like comedy or live music, which might be of interest for others to check out. In fact, they had a comedy show going on the night i visited. They are located in the second floor of the Curtin house.

Absolutely disappointed with the service at this place which let our evening down completely. Went on a Tuesday night so we got tables immediately. We were a large group (and the only one till 10.30pm) , ordered pizza, chicken nuggets. Food was average and expected to be so. We ordered a whole lot of drinks including whisky, Jager and vodka cocktail. The drinks didn't really need much but the bartender behind the counter was rude. She was screaming at us if we asked for paper napkins and just scoffed at us every time we asked for more drinks. We were paying customers so this attitude was absolutely uncalled for. Never going here again.

Had a very rude staff member come up to us and berate us about the candle not being lit. She was so rude and scolded us like children. Blonde, short hair and about 5 foot 8. I've loved this venue for years, this was the first time I've experienced such treatment.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday at The Toff in Town, and it was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we booked, Beth, the incredible floor manager, went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. She didn’t just take care of the booking — she genuinely cared about making the night special for all of us. Beth’s attention to detail, warmth, and professionalism made us feel like VIPs. She made sure our group of friends were comfortable, well looked after, and having a great time the entire evening. We’re so grateful for the experience and will absolutely be back. Massive thanks again to Beth — you made it a night to remember! 🙏

Kinda hit and miss. The lady manning the front is lovely. Bar staff had no idea about what’s on the menu. Asked for Penfolds Riesling which is on the menu and she said it’s not on the menu aggressively. All booth tables facing the main doorway were not wiped. Otherwise the venue itself is amazing.
