The Timber Yard is built on the philosophy of recycling, up-cycling and bringing people together for amazing events. Located on 6,000 sqm, comprised of indoor and outdoor space, in the Port Melbourne industrial precinct, The Timber Yard is a landmark Melbourne venue of unprecedented size and event flexibility. The site has been restored, remaining true to its heritage of second-hand timber storage and fabrication. The Timber Yard is an urban sanctuary designed to bring the flavour and personality of the country into the city. The Timber Yard is home to four unique event spaces. Among these is a 1,000sqm lush turfed outdoor area perfect for a wedding ceremony, product launch or cocktail-style event. The back of the property hosts a 1,400sqm warehouse space suited to any type of event, big or small. Both of these spaces can host up to 1,500 guests seated or standing. The Workshop and The Wood Store are more intimate spaces built from reclaimed timber, and old steel and spotted with lush greenery. The in-house AV team ensures that all audio-visual needs are met seamlessly, providing high-quality sound and lighting for every occasion. From corporate events to private celebrations and everything in between, this flexible event space offers a versatile atmosphere that adapts to your specific needs.

The venue, people and music rocked. Utah Saints were awesome. I want to go back that good. Booze drinks are about expensive but they do have free water at the side of the front bar

Great place but the background music whilst eating at our function was so loud that I could only hear the person on either side. Not great when most people didn’t know the others on their table. And tables so close my chair kept getting knocked despite me almost sitting on the table. Enjoyed the great food and entertainment was fantastic.

Great venue, brilliant sound, large without anywhere really feeling too far away, and with good access to the three bars. Security and venue management were lovely and well organised. Only real let down was the toilets (a row of portaloos on the far side, that could only be accessed by squeezing through the crowd)
NAFDA Foodservice Events
The contracting and planning process with Charley and Taylah was easy and seamless. Venue Management were great to negotiate with in allowing us to have a 7-piece band in The Yard under flexible and fair parameters. Our guests loved the venue, and it truly came alive at night!
Taz DQ
Went here to see the Remi Wolf gig. The performance space is great but the facilities are awful. Only portable toilets were available for use and due to the hot weather they were putrid. The stench migrated into the performance space and ruined the amenity. Sound quality was not great either - quite a bit of reverb. Some more seating outside would be great. Had a great time at the show anyway and the bar staff were lovely and security staff were efficient and effective.
