The location is excellent; however, the overall experience falls short of expectations. The self-check-in process feels impersonal, more akin to a fast-food establishment like maccas than a hotel setting. While the rooms are spacious and adequate, the advertised ‘room service’ is misleading. Guests are required to collect their orders from reception, resembling a uber delivery service, or pay an additional $5 fee for delivery—on top of already high prices. This lack of personal touch and convenience is disappointing for a hotel of this caliber.
Overall great hotel. Staff were helpful at check-in, rooms are nice and clean. The bed was very comfy with great pillows. Location is exceptional, so much going on around you. The Wilson’s car parking is very close by with large car park bays.
The hotel was very clean and the position on Southbank was great in order to access the restaurants and bars and to walk to the AO tennis. The buffet breakfast was well worth the money also. The only gripe I had was that I paid extra in order to have a room over looking the city and river which was lovely in the evening but not at 7am when the demolition of the building I overlooked sprung to life and there was jackhammers and excavators making all their noises. I was hoping for a quiet sleep-in...it was not to be.
Our 3 night stay in a comfortable room with a view was great! A short walk to bars, restaurants, theatre and public transport, the hotel is in a very convenient location. Happy hour from 4-6 in the Distrkt Bar on the ground floor was a welcome retreat on hot afternoons. The bartender was amiable and friendly.
I was check in late evening on Feb 10th 2025, all with good condition until Feb 11th 2025 afternoon when I came back from sightseeing nearby hotel, found my room was cleaned by room service (even i'm not asking to clean it, just standard service from hotel I guess). But sadly the bedding stuff such as pillowcase and bad sheet not really clean, I smell and feel fine dust on it, try to gently brush it by my self for anticipating dust allergic when I get sleep in evening. But still, now I got cough and can't sleep well, still try to sleep after taking paracetamol. I still have 1 day left stay at the hotel, hopefully get well soon before check out.
