The hotel was very clean and the position on Southbank was great in order to access the restaurants and bars and to walk to the AO tennis. The buffet breakfast was well worth the money also. The only gripe I had was that I paid extra in order to have a room over looking the city and river which was lovely in the evening but not at 7am when the demolition of the building I overlooked sprung to life and there was jackhammers and excavators making all their noises. I was hoping for a quiet sleep-in...it was not to be.
Overall great hotel. Staff were helpful at check-in, rooms are nice and clean. The bed was very comfy with great pillows. Location is exceptional, so much going on around you. The Wilson’s car parking is very close by with large car park bays.
Our 3 night stay in a comfortable room with a view was great! A short walk to bars, restaurants, theatre and public transport, the hotel is in a very convenient location. Happy hour from 4-6 in the Distrkt Bar on the ground floor was a welcome retreat on hot afternoons. The bartender was amiable and friendly.
Arrived thinking I’d take a much needed break, even though from Melbourne decided to use my Accor Plus card. Big mistake. Upon arrival decided to eat. Ordered chicken breast and mash, wife ordered noodles. The chicken I ordered came out Black and burnt on top. Pointed it out and informed by chef that they always burn chicken. Went to room on 3rd floor, weird sickly smell that persists in hallway and room. Room is tiny, in no way matching price charged. Also very noisy with street noise not stopping. Doubt I’ll stay the night, wouldn’t recommend.
Very dissapointed with our stay. It started with a self serve check in and no staff to be seen. No one assisted with luggage or support. Room was very old and outdated. Room service menu was different online to what was shown on the menu in the room and to top it off we needed to collect it from reception ourselves. Our room door (313) when opened was opposite a full load of dirty to be washed towels and linen, not pleasant. There was no "service". It's clearly a budget hotel and not even close to being worth what we paid.
