Arriving at 202 Normanby Road in Southbank, guests will go up to Strato Melbourne via a private entry located in the stunning lobby of Oakwood Premier Melbourne. Upon arriving at the 40th floor, the impressive entrance allows guests to experience the height of Strato from the moment they arrive at the venue, acting as a glass floor sitting above the bustling city. To the left of the foyer is the main Strato Bar and Lounge, hosting up to 70 people and to the right sits our restaurant. Above both areas sits Level 41, an exclusive function and event space dedicated to supporting special occasions, private functions and V.I.P’s who need privacy with a view.
Strato Bar boasts a 16-metre stone bar with an illuminated glass brick frame. Attached to the main bar and lounge is an alfresco terrace, perfect for warmer nights, resembling the famous rooftops in New York City. With 7-meter tall glass windows, guests will enjoy views of the city skyline whilst enjoying our elevated menu, seasonal cocktails, wines and locally crafted beers.
Strato, the restaurant, is romantically modern, seating up to 114 guests and providing exceptional views of Port Phillip Bay. The restaurant has its own live kitchen, made from a stone benchtop and filtered glass bottom that is subtly lit. Strato Melbourne Bar and Restaurant offers an incredible location with breathtaking views from the top floor, making it a perfect spot for a night out. The ambiance is elegant, and the staff are warm and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. However, the food quality does not quite match the premium pricing. While the presentation is impressive, the flavors and execution could be improved to justify the cost. Given the stunning setting and excellent service, a slight upgrade in the culinary experience would make this venue truly exceptional. Still, it’s a great place to enjoy drinks with a view!

Perfect for any occasion. We were a bit nervous to book, having read some of the reviews but we are so glad we did. It was nothing short of wonderful. The greeting, food, the cocktails, the views! The views were simply stunning. From sunset to city lights.We would have given service 5 stars however it was a bit slow at times with drinks. But other than that, a wonderful night. Thank you Strato. We will be back!

Visited Strato on the weekend and it was the most perfect date night spot. Such a special place to visit. We enjoyed the feed me menu and it was such a delicious array of dishes. We also enjoyed some yummy cocktails. The amazing views also make this restaurant a must visit!

Booked online for husbands birthday and was placed in cocktail bar section of restaurant. Was told that it was part of the restaurant (had x3 tables set up). I asked to be moved to main restaurant which they accommodated which had a much nicer vibe including more relaxed music. Went for the feed me menu. Food was sufficient but I developed intense abdominal pain prior to dessert and ended up leaving in an ambulance. Was also overcharged for food and drinks. Still unknown as to cause of pain but experience has left a sour taste.

I bought my partner here for some birthday cocktails a couple of years ago, and we just knew it was going to be the perfect fit for our recent engagement party. Tiger the event manager was such a pleasure to deal with, she was so efficient with contact via email through the whole booking and organisation experience, she was so helpful and flexible and made sure the night was set up perfectly, even my other vendors commented on how good she was! I highly recommend Strato Rooftop Bar not only for cocktails, but also if you need a fancy event venue - all our guests gushed at how awesome it was. It’s a beautiful space with incredible views. On the night the canapés we chose were also nice and the staff were lovely. We are so happy we chose Strato for such a special evening!
