My wife and I had a 3 course dinner here and everything was fantastic. We started with Garlic bread which was perfectly crisp, we were also brought some complimentary bread which was delicious. For mains, my wife has the chicken breast which was succulent and presented well and I had the Sirloin Med Rare which was cooked to perfection and served with some beautiful potatoes on the side. The portion sizes were great and we had to get some of our meal to takeway, which was no issue. We had a fantastic server named Chloe who made sure we were looked after and she was very friendly and attentive. Her service was genuinely top notch. The drinks were great, in particular the cocktails, and the bartender who brought us our drinks was friendly and knowledgeable. Truly a great night and we will be back again.
We dined at The Pen in Mandurah two nights running whilst enjoying a weekend away. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive to all our needs. The food was fabulous and great range to choose from with some delicious specials. The staff remembered us on our second visit and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return to The Pen the next time we visit Mandurah.
Someone with a track record of trashing businesses with one star reviews recently gave you a one star review. "I’ve been here many times before with absolutely no complaints " was how it began. In which universe can you justify giving a one star review to a place you love going to? It says far more about the reviewer than the business. If I had a favourite, popular restaurant and was entertaining visitors from overseas, I'd book a table, right? If I arrived on spec and there was an issue, I'd ask to speak to the manager, right? Or I might call the manager the following day. Just because there is no room at the inn, does not justify a one star review for a place which had given good service on multiple previous occasions. Businesses have no comeback to unfair reviews, which can damage reputations and affect rankings in Google permanently. Businesses just have to cop it. Some people like to abuse the power they have to damage people's businesses, a sad reflection on the society we live in. I haven't used your services. I am simply giving you a five star review to help go some way to balancing the ledger for that one star review. Although mathematically speaking, it takes about 50 five star reviews to undo the effects a single one star review has on your average review score.
We booked for dinner before a show and we will never come again. The location is beautiful but food was disgraceful. My husband ordered the chicken schnitzel with peppercorn sauce, it was served dry with no sauce and we were told afterward. They then said he can have mushroom which he doesn’t like. The waitress was no friendly but said try the mushroom as it’s the same as peppercorn sauce but they drop a few pieces of mushroom in it. He got it just to give moisture to make the dry chicken edible. Mushroom sauce was watery and tasteless. I ordered the barramundi which looked amazing in the photo. I received the smallest piece of barramundi for $40 with a chunk missing off the end. There were cold tasteless noodle salad or other that were mush like they had been soaking in horrible tap water. I always order barramundi whenever we go out on the Rockingham foreshore. It often comes on a bed of mash for a portion of the price and always a main size piece… absolutely appalling Pen! The manager said she doesn’t make the prices. They didn’t give the option to change our dry chicken and ruined what would have been a nice night. Oh the martini was nice!
Food was a big let down. Squid dish for $20 was very small. The Cauliflower dish had no pomegranates, fried shallots or dukkah which was stated on the menu. Pizza base was pre made not made in the kitchen and not cooked. Wouldn't go here again.
