Came back since a year ago. It’s early dinner on the weekdays, a bit quiet. Still a nice atmosphere and venue. We had a beer but the Swan Draft seemed a bit different from what we normally had. The food we got the Squid-ink spaghetti with seafood. The menu clearly mentioned the first seafood is the snappers - however the dish we received didn’t have any fish at all. We back to the counter to ask. And the bar staff went to check with the kitchen. Then the original waitress came to us and said the chef will prepare some fish for us. Also she offered us a drink on the house. Not a bad damage control and she just executed professionally. The dish itself was good with strong favour. It might be a bit hot to some people, as it’s not indicated any hotness in the menu. Overall a good dinner.
I recently took photos for a 70th at The Pen and the service was exceptional. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and the food was beautifully presented. Well done to the team — highly recommended. xx
Seiraa was amazing — it truly felt like home. We went for a friend’s birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience. Her service was exceptional, and she made the evening even more special. Highly recommend!
Staying at The Sebel after a delayed flight we were tired and hungry - The Pen was recommended for our evening meal. Wednesdays is quiz night so we chose to eat in the quieter part of the restaurant. We really appreciated the very friendly service. Our meal - Shark Bay Crab Spagettini and Crispy Skinned Baramundi with soba noodle and bean sprout salad was washed down with a glass of Margaret River Domaine Naturaliste Dicovery SBS wine - it was all delicious. Thank you
We visited The Pen Mandurah on 9 May to celebrate my brother’s engagement. While we appreciated the complimentary drink and card for the engaged couple, unfortunately the rest of the evening was extremely disappointing. Service was incredibly slow, with long waits for drinks (including 45 minutes for a can of Coke), missing orders, and poor communication about menu items. We were incorrectly told all tap beers were unavailable, only to later see other tables being served them. Our meals sat waiting at the pass for around 10 minutes before being served cold, one pizza arrived well after everyone else had finished, and my chicken parmigiana was burnt, tough, and barely topped. Our main waitress was also rude and dismissive throughout the night. Our table of 10 spent $467.80, yet we left feeling frustrated after more than two hours of poor service. I emailed management first rather than posting publicly. On 13 May I received a response apologising, saying the matter would be investigated and that I would receive a phone call with a resolution. It has now been over four weeks, and despite that promise, I have heard nothing further. It’s disappointing that not only was our experience poor, but the promised follow-up never happenedWe visited The Pen Mandurah on 9 May to celebrate my brother’s engagement.
