Came back since a year ago. It’s early dinner on the weekdays, a bit quiet. Still a nice atmosphere and venue. We had a beer but the Swan Draft seemed a bit different from what we normally had. The food we got the Squid-ink spaghetti with seafood. The menu clearly mentioned the first seafood is the snappers - however the dish we received didn’t have any fish at all. We back to the counter to ask. And the bar staff went to check with the kitchen. Then the original waitress came to us and said the chef will prepare some fish for us. Also she offered us a drink on the house. Not a bad damage control and she just executed professionally. The dish itself was good with strong favour. It might be a bit hot to some people, as it’s not indicated any hotness in the menu. Overall a good dinner.
Went to the truffle night, oh my days! Not only has this venue improved dramatically in the last few weeks but the food has never changed, it has always been exceptional but THIS TRUFFLE NIGHT 😻 amazing from start to finish, the head chef is a mastermind, the surprise wine pairing!!!??? AMAZING! The dessert? Goats cheese, truffles, beetroot, white chocolate mouse and honey?? IT BLOODY EXPLODES YOUR TASTS BUDS! I wish I could give 10 stars 🩷🩷🩷
I recently took photos for a 70th at The Pen and the service was exceptional. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and the food was beautifully presented. Well done to the team — highly recommended. xx
This is the $35 roast from The Peninsula. So disappointed. This used to be a great place to eat but to charge $35 for 2 slices of what appears to be deli beef, 2 pieces of carrot, 2 baby roast potato’s and a tiny piece of pumpkin is ridiculous. My partner had the Guinness beef pie and mash. And that was literally all he got. For $36. Overpriced and not worth it. Plenty of local places around who do great roasts, and this isn’t one of them.
We always enjoy our visit to The Pen. Just love the atmosphere and the mix of generations that frequent the venue gives it that feel good spirit every time. I want to give a huge shout out to a gorgeous lady, “SONJA” that greeted myself and my 20 guests on the 7th August, for a birthday celebration. Our tables were situated outside but when we arrived, the seating was absolutely saturated because of the rain and we couldn’t be seated and enjoy our drinks and meals. “SONJA” went above and beyond to accommodate us all and arranged for seating to be set up inside the venue. It happened so quick and we were seated in the restaurant area, lovely and warm and welcoming. We all enjoyed a good meal and drinks and our celebration was so enjoyable. THANK YOU SONJA 👌😍
