We dined at The Pen in Mandurah two nights running whilst enjoying a weekend away. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive to all our needs. The food was fabulous and great range to choose from with some delicious specials. The staff remembered us on our second visit and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return to The Pen the next time we visit Mandurah.
Had a great lunch at The Pen today. All 4 meals were very good, tasty and fresh. I had the Reuben sandwich. Excellent service from the wee Scottish girl Rachael, she is very welcoming and friendly, thank you.
When to the Pen for a night away with the wife and had an absolutely fantastic meal and time together. Service was very helpful and prompt and professional. Not something you often experience in Perth these days. Atmosphere had a good vibe to it on a Friday night. Food was superb. All of it. Garlic bread and chips. Very good. The main we had was a seafood platter and it was excellent. Octopus which we usually do not like had us going back for more. Prawns fantastic. The bug/crab was only thing that didn't tick all the boxes. For sweets I had Sticky Date Pudding. Excellent and with lots or sauce. Thank you! Wife had the sorbet and was happy with that. In Mandurah we usually stay at the Sebal so next time we are down we will definitely be coming in again for another excellent meal. Great work team
Restaurant side is a big nope, sorry. I received 10 small pieces of gnocchi and a bowl of sauce for $35 for a main. I’m a small eater so a meal not being enough for me is unheard of. I ended up ordering bread to dunk in the sauce so I’d have something to eat. My partner got the chicken which did not taste good. Better off staying in the bar side and getting a burger.
Dined in the restaurant on Saturday night while we stayed at the Sebel. Very good service from restaurant staff. We liked that we got to enjoy date night without being rushed. We had the prawns, corn on the cob and roast chicken. There was way too much sauce with the corn other than that, the roast chicken main and the prawn entree were perfect. Food was pretty nice considering how busy the pub was with diners and a private birthday party function was also in attendance. Strange thing though there were no numbers visible on the dining room tables. We witnessed staff taking drink orders to the wrong table a number of times, then having to ask other tables if the drinks belonged to them. Not an efficient use of staff time.
