Stayed here with my partner for a week. Pros: lovely staff, excellent central location, rooms are large and very quiet even with all the weekend party noise below, huge bathroom and well appointed kitchenette. Cons: parking is limited, the room was very bright at night with a light right outside the window and no blockout blinds, the AC struggled to keep the room cool and was very noisy, the bed was VERY bouncy with indentations - uncomfortable so we didn't have a single really good sleep.
Anyone leaving this place a less than 4 star review should read my review and go and stay at Oaks in Sydney. Honestly, Oaks Perth is a veritable palace in comparison. Not without it's flaws, but you wouldn't think it was part of the same group. The entrance is big and leads off to a nice, quiet restaurant area. The staff on reception are polite and helpful, especially the lady on our last night who managed to get us a cab while the road was closed and even went out looking for it with us! The room was very big, with a really useful kitchenette with a fridge, hotplate, toaster and kettle with a selection of tea and coffee and milk in the fridge. The bathroom is also big and has a powerful shower. The only downside to our stay was information (or lack of it) about housekeeping. The sign in the bathroom says to leave towels on the floor to be changed. We left at 7.30am on the first morning and got back at 6.30pm to find them still there. When I went to speak with reception, we were told housekeeping were not in on that day (a Sunday, maybe normal) and in any event "not all rooms have daily housekeeping". Would have been really useful to have been told all of this on check-in but regardless, he was very helpful and gave us a full replacement set of towels. We didn't get room service for the rest of our three day stay, so we can only assume ours was a room/price level which doesn't get it. Breakfast was really good. Not the biggest range of choice but plenty enough and very good food.
Facilities in my room unfortunately was more like a backpacker hostel, if not worse Tried to call reception as my TV was stating to view foxtel they needed to pay for it, no answer. The air-conditioner sounded like it was custom built for a factory, if you want to sleep with it on ear plugs will be required. The light above my stove continually flickered until it went out. I have no rack for dishes I cleaned and cutlery was completely filthy. Look elsewhere peeps or sleep in a car.
Very convenient location to RAC arena, Cole’s and shopping. Spacious studio room with great hot shower and comfy bed. Friendly helpful staff. We always choose Oaks as never disappointed. Oh and on a sidenote, have stayed here several times now and never had a dodgy air con (as some other reviews say)
I recently stayed at Oaks Perth, and overall, it was a great experience. The location is fantastic, with the Perth Underground Station just a short walk away, providing easy access to most subway lines in the city. I loved being close to the Sushi Hub near the station—it’s definitely worth a visit! Additionally, we found convenient shortcuts to Wellington Street and William Street through Raine Square, which also features a food court and a Coles Mart, perfect for quick meals or snacks. Don’t miss out on The Wolf Espresso at the back of the hotel; it’s a delightful spot for coffee. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped, complete with amenities like a pantry that included a microwave, electric kettle, utensils, and complimentary coffee, tea, and milk. Another plus was the hotel’s flexibility with luggage; they allowed us to store our bags until the evening since checkout was at 10 AM. The only downside was the air conditioner, which seemed a bit old and was positioned facing the bed, making it a little less comfortable. Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Oaks Perth and would recommend it for its excellent location and amenities!
