There for a special memorial lunch event. Everything was very well done, in an emotional setting. From greetings & discretion of staff, to the food, tasty & well presented, good choice of wines & soft drink. Lovely venue overlooking the wharf & harbour, a great spot to send off a much loved, family member, friend & long term resident of the Bay. One negative, I am currently recovering from knee surgery, using a stick. There was no accessible toilet near the dining area & a few steps up into the dining area with no rail, nothing to hold onto. Had to ask re toilet & was directed to reception area, not close, where there was a locked accessible toilet, which staff unlocked for me & helped with door.
Great spot where you can see Sydney skyline from the ocean, in front of the wharf, so comfy to take the ferry to reach cbd, few minutes by walk for the ocean view. Rooms are so big and really high quality, our one had got an amazing view from the windows! Personal so energetic and ready to help however, general lovely behaviour as take care of the customer.
The hotel staff are really lovely and have did all they can to make me feel welcomed. The location is amazing and easy parking. Food in the restaurant proved to be also very good with the chicken burger. I recommend rooms that face the park. Thanks again for your hospitality and being attentive to your guests.
We had a great dinner at Watsons Bay Hotel—a stunning location, beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food made for a memorable night out. It’s easy to see why this spot is a favourite for both locals and visitors, with those iconic waterfront views and relaxed coastal vibes. When we first arrived, we were seated downstairs, which was buzzing with energy. It’s definitely a lively area, and while that can be fun for some, it was a bit too loud for the kind of dinner we were after. We asked the staff if we could be moved upstairs where it was quieter, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The transition was smooth and handled with genuine friendliness, which we really appreciated. Upstairs offered a much more peaceful setting—still with that signature Watsons Bay charm, but far more relaxed and intimate. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the evening and actually have a conversation without raising our voices. The ambiance up there is a bit more refined and slower-paced, which suited us perfectly. As for the food—it didn’t disappoint. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-cooked, and generously portioned. The menu had a great selection of classic pub-style meals with a refined twist, perfect for the setting. The seafood was particularly good—fresh and full of flavour. And of course, enjoying a drink while watching the sunset over the water is hard to beat. The service throughout was lovely. Friendly, accommodating staff and prompt service added to the overall experience. The only reason I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars instead of a full five is the noise level downstairs, which was a little overwhelming at first. But once we were relocated, the night was thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend for a scenic and tasty night out—just consider requesting an upstairs table if you’re after a more relaxed dining experience.
Couldn’t rate the room as I am just stop by for lunch. Staff are friendly and helpful, food is nice with spectacular view. Definitely a beautiful 😍 place to spend a wonderful morning / avo with family and friends
