About the venue
Tandanya is Australia’s oldest Aboriginal-owned and managed multi-arts Centre. ‘Tandanya’ is the Kaurna word (pronounced Garna) word for ‘place of the red kangaroo’. This reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to honour and respect the traditional owners and custodians for the country on which Tandanya is situated. Established in 1989, Tandanya is the leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Multi Arts and Cultural Centre. Our mission is to develop, promote and showcase the diversity of ATSI artistic practices and foster debate and discourse through an exciting program of visual and performing arts, workshops artist/curator talks, forums, cultural presentations, and film screenings.
