From the moment we walked in the service was excellent. We had a reservation and were seated outside and the weather was lovely. It was a Saturday night and the music levels were at a nice level for conversation. We were offered drinks immediately which was refreshing. I could see tables of cocktails and drinks and imagine this place getting louder as the night goes on. Luckily for us we were quite removed from the bar area and this noise didn't affect our meal or atmosphere outdoors. The food was quite nice, particularly the Salmon and Chicken mains. The nachos were a little boring in flavour, but serving sizes were generous. Unfortunately they had run out of Beef Cheeks by the time we arrived for our 7pm booking which was a little disappointing. We left a tip as our wait staff had contributed greatly to our good experience and overall meal. Shortly afterwards, as we were getting ready to leave, they came by our table to thank us for dining and that's just a lovely thanks that isn't often received anymore. This place emanates local experience, professionalism and we are regulars.

Ordered a seafood CKT and Buddha bowl & Goya dressing with teriyaki chicken. Seafood CKT was tasty with plenty of prawns and calamari and excellent value. The Buddha bowl was a bit dry and simple but the chicken was very tasty.

Attended an educational dinner meeting at Fiction Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent—my entree was crispy and the main carefully prepared, and full of flavor. Every bite was satisfying. The waterfront setting added to the ambiance, making it a great spot for both casual and special occasions. Service was good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. Definitely a great place to dine at Raby Bay Harbour!

Terrible food despite good service and atmosphere. Paid $38 for a salmon dish that came with just a tiny piece of fish and piles of potato and pumpkin — easily the worst and smallest salmon I’ve ever had. Almost every table had leftover food, and after tasting mine, I knew exactly why. This place survives on location, not quality.

Partner and I thought we would go out to Raby Bay and enjoy ourselves by going to a restaurant and enjoy a nice meal which was a usually outside of our price range. Staff were not rude but unable to answer basic questions such as what vegetables came with meals. I ordered a $52.00 steak (blue) which came out well done. I doubt the wait staff wrote my request down. Another review I read mentioned about this place the words boot leather….yes….. boot leather. Not fit enough even for a steak sandwich. We were placed next to a large party about to celebrate an 18th which was ok. As anticipated the volume of patrons went up so we asked to move to another table near the peripherals of the eating space which was fine. Then we were told we cannot get table service there which was fine too. We were then told to pay out bill asap….half way through eating our meal reason being we moved tables and someone now sat at the initial table we were on. Our intention was to have coffee and dessert after our meal however being told we needed to pay up halfway through our meal was rude and disrespectful. Needless to say our initial excitment of going to Fiction fell flat fast..First and last for this joint…
