Reviews for Ovolo The Valley

Ovolo The Valley on Ann Street is a quirky and eclectic boutique hotel with plenty of personality. The design is fun and distinctive, very much its own style, which makes it feel different from the usual chain hotels. The service was great throughout the stay – friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. My room was spacious and comfortable, though it’s starting to feel like it could use a little refreshing in places. Nothing major, just some small updates would lift it further. The location is another big plus, with easy access to nearby restaurant and dining areas. Being close to the Gasworks Precinct was especially handy, with plenty of great food and coffee options within a short walk. A tip when booking: try to choose a room that doesn’t overlook the main road. The room I stayed in was very quiet, which made a big difference to the overall experience. The bed was comfortable, perhaps a little on the firm side, but still perfectly acceptable and I slept well. Overall, a character-filled hotel in a great Fortitude Valley location, with excellent service and a relaxed, fun vibe. I’d happily stay again.

Amazing stay! Celebrated an anniversary in the Purple Rain room on 6th floor. So spacious and well designed! I'm a mid century fan so appreciated the decor and choices. Some nice touches to make us welcome on arrival. Showers were great (yep, two), bed comfy, incredibly quiet considering the road so close, clever lighting, nice little bar section and a balcony to stand and admire the passing traffic. All the staff, who were under the pump, were great. Proper personal service from everyone. The location is a nice spot what I call the "right side of the Valley" away from the mess and smells, with Tartufo Italian being one of my favourites in Brisbane 1 min walk away. Shame the complex is lacking tenants like the old days, all the same plenty of great eating and wondering close by at James St, Gasworks and surrounds. Breakfast at Kazba Cocktail Bar was the best I've had in so long, including great coffee - I'll seperately review there. There's much choice for a staycation in Brissy, I'll be hard pushed to try elsewhere instead of returning for a second time. Besides, I didn't get to try the rooftop bar, so there's a reason to come back! Thank you to all the crew, both front and back of house, who made our stay worthwhile - I hope you read this and realise you're appreciated. To the reader; highly recommended, please book and stay here.

I stay there for my concerts at QPAC. As a Wyndham owner I can stay there using my Reward points. So no cash. The Ovolo is well serviced with bus stops on Ann Street into the city and Wickham Street out of the city. It is 7 blocks from Brunswick Street Station and there are shops on leaving the station eg Woolies if you need supplies.(All under cover). The Ovolo is situated within a courtyard type block that is serviced with cafes, restaurants, a BWS and if my memory serves me a chemist. Plus other outlets, that didn't interest me. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. The room was very good, but don't use the Mini bar - very expensive. My trip was for a Concert neither a holiday nor business. Leisure if you like

From the outset, this has been a wonderful stay. Initial communication via phone, check-in and welcoming, decor and every staff member. The location is excellent and the suite comfy. Fantastic blackout curtains and effective quieting of traffic noise. Marvellous.

Beautiful rooms! Staff were very nice and accommodating. Check in/out was very flexible. Love that you could do laundry! Although I do not suggest the morning of if you’re in a rush. But also high heat dry is not damaging/ pretty normal heat level- so don’t be scared! Reminder to also flip your light blue if you want your room cleaned daily before you leave..otherwise it doesn’t happen ! But agreed getting someone to answer the phone rather it be housekeeping or guest services took some time and patience. Pool area definitely more for vibes than actual use and service at the bar up there was not great. They ran out of soda water for my marg and just gave me tequila with the liqueur..
