We visited SOKO after seeing an online video promoting what appeared to be a $58 eight-course banquet, only to learn on arrival that it had to be booked in advance—a detail not mentioned in the video. Although we were happy to order à la carte instead, the restaurant’s beautiful rooftop setting, greenery, views and atmosphere were ultimately let down by food that felt underwhelming and poor value for the prices. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The rooftop setting, greenery, views and overall atmosphere are fantastic. Unfortunately, that’s where our experience really peaked. We started with four dishes. The shiitake mushrooms looked fantastic in the online photos and appeared to be a substantial dish. What arrived was three very small mushrooms on a skewer. They tasted nice, but for the price, three tiny mushrooms felt seriously overpriced. We also ordered a sushi roll, which unfortunately lacked flavour and was quite disappointing. The sashimi platter looked impressive when it arrived — a large platter with around 12 pieces of sashimi. The fish itself was fresh and quite nice, but the pieces were extremely small. Considering the size of the platter and the price, the value simply wasn’t there. Even the little extras felt unnecessarily skimpy. There was barely enough wasabi for one person, despite the platter being something we were sharing. There was a small soy sauce dish on the platter, but no soy sauce, so we had to ask for some. With a sashimi platter, having soy sauce available seems like a pretty basic expectation. There was also a little dry-ice presentation, which looked nice, but even that felt more like a token gesture than anything substantial. As my daughter put it, the whole experience felt “skimpy.” After the four dishes, we decided not to order anything else and cut our losses, heading elsewhere for dessert. It’s a shame because SOKO has all the ingredients to be a great dining experience. The setting and atmosphere are excellent, but unfortunately we felt that we were paying more for the rooftop ambience, décor and presentation than for the food itself. For what we paid, the overall experience was underwhelming and, in our opinion, overpriced. Three stars is probably being generous, and those stars are largely for the atmosphere and setting. I’m not sure whether we’ll return, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t be rushing back.

We had the Tropicalia Brunch Set Menu. The food and atmosphere were next-level amazing and really high-quality. The drinks were good but would have liked a larger variety as part of the package. It would have been nice for the staff to check on us a bit more frequently. But overall it was fantastic and we will be back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a lovely experience at Soko last Saturday! I went with friends and we really enjoyed both the food and the service. The sushi was absolutely delicious, and the Pisco Sours were a highlight, they definitely took us back to our South American roots! 🍣🍸❤️ A special mention to Kenta, the waiter, who was so friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He was attentive throughout the whole night, always checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. Patrick, the manager, was also incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome. Their hospitality really added to our experience. We unfortunately had no room left for dessert, but that just gives me the perfect excuse to come back. I definitely need to try the Perumisu next time! Great food, great drinks, amazing service and such a nice atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful restaurant with well presented food and a great atmosphere. The only downside was that we had a reservation but still had to wait around 10 minutes before being greeted at the entrance. There was also an event making it a little noisy for dinner. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re after a lively vibe and drinks with friends.

Amazing food and drinks! It was difficult to pick our favourite dish. The oysters and ceviche were top notch. The Geisha’s kiss shooter was also delicious. Loved the interior decor and the view from the balcony was incredible. The staff were exceptional and so accommodating with our requests. We had a brilliant experience and would highly recommend this restaurant.
