First time ordering from the royal, unfortunately the food was below subpar. First came the Pina Colada that tasted like straight vodka and lime juice. No pineapple taste, paid $20 for that and had two sips and left the rest. My sister had a lemon lime and bitters which she said had way too much lime also. Sister ordered a spaghetti bolognaise which she couldn't eat as it lacked flavour and was watery, was making her feel sick, it was a kids option though. She also ordered a ceaser salad, she had a bite or two of her and said it was flavourless and didn't realise that it didnt come with bacon as most traditional ceasers do. So another meal wasted. I ordered the chicken main which was around $32 and the chicken was all gristle, the flavour on the chargrill was nice but unfortunately it was also inedible, no meat at all. The potato's were extremely dry, the sauce was watery and tasteless. The carrots were coated in a thick flavourless crumb mix which was not pleasant. We both spent over the $100 mark combined on food and drink and left to eat elsewhere as we couldn't finish anything. The table was also dirty and no one offered to clean it. The only upside was that the service staff were lovely. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Went to see a live band of which this venue is the perfect place for such events .We went on a Friday night and it was extremely busy but the service was excellent. We had a table booked but cancelled it because of being late however when arrived still got a table really quick .The meals once ordered arrived with no delay and where expensive but exceptional ( crab meat Lasagne with side salad )ps was very easy to book a table via there system .As said before a great room for live music !!

Was there for the guinness obviously and the pour was ok. Nice head and presentation but will say it had that metallic feel to her. You need that creamy feel and not served too cold. Got take out pizza which was the special for Wednesday ar $17. Excellent value for money, pizza was superb.

My partner and I recently went out to the Royal for dinner. We decided to celebrate some recent news with food and drink. I thought I would treat myself to their 300g Striploin. I came to regret this decision. Entrees came out, they were fine. Mains came out and my "medium rare" steak came out as per the photos. At first I actually thought I had misordered. Eventually I confirmed the order via the receipt and there was no misordering, just a kitchen that cannot cook a steak. Waitress came around, asked how our meals were. I showed her my meal and she apologised. Few minutes later she came back with a tablet and proceeded to say that the steak would be refunded and that it would take a few days to process Now I believe this to be a lie to placate us and get us out. Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since this dinner and there hasnt been a refund. $49.50 for a barely cooked steak, what a joke. What would've happened if I had ordered rare? Would they take it straight out of the fridge and put it on the plate? My night was completely ruined and we left immediately after dinner. We left with disappointment and regret. We won't ever return to the Royal.

The Impossiburger (pictured) is a vegan offering. Patty on gluten free bun, with sliced avocado. This "bun" was hard and impossible to bite into, especially as the patty has no structure and it's sliding around on the avo. However the staff made a new one for me with a regular bun which made a satisfactory burger. NB there's no menu option for vegetarians, just this vegan burger. Our lunch didn't improve as the people next to us had their dog which yapped and yapped ignoring it's master's protests to "stop it"
