Meriton Suites is situated in a great location walking distance to shops, the War Memorial and Lake Burley Griffin. It is also very central to all bus stops which makes easy to get to anywhere in Canberra. The staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 7 nights and chose not to have the apartment serviced during our stay, however, any time we needed our amenities replenished, we simply called down to hotel reception and requested what we needed and it was sent up to our room. They have a QR code in the room which has some useful information on it, including the complimentary items you can request to your room. The room itself was spacious with all the items you would expect in a serviced apartment. The balcony was large and had great views and we were even joined by a friendly cockatoo during lunch on the balcony. The gym is well equipped with another great view and the pool is nice too. We were lucky enough to stay over the new year period and we even got views of the fireworks from our balcony.

Wonderful staff and service. The room was lovely, beds comfortable, kitchen and utensils with pots available for cooking. An actual full size fridge freezer and not a mini fridge. Comfortable lounge and just the right size for a one bedroom. Hospital cleaning staff and lastly, the pool, sauna and gym with a great view of Canberra central.

The one bedroom apartment is a spacious well stocked home away from home. Centrally located within walking distance of CBD shops and close to the casino. Friendly helpful reception staff. Finally a nice view from our balcony. Beats staying in a single hotel room costing the same money per night.

Room floor plan is very poor. The bedroom has a frosted glass panel between the living room which means once someone wakes up and switches on the lights, the person in the bedroom wakes up. The room was facing the Wilson parking which was unpleasant. The pillows are huge and hard. A sandbag would be more comfortable. The air conditioning was set to shut off after 30mins by the previous guest. Was awaken by the heat. The air conditioning is also noisy. Room was an unpleasant cramped layout.

I wanted to leave a review to just say how amazing my stay was over the NYE period. From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel lobby Mitchell at the front desk was extremely helpful and professional. My partner and I were trying to get all of our bags and luggage from the street parking as it started to storm and rain quite heavily, this is when I had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager Emily, she was extremely humble and helpful, helping my partner and I load all of our stuff onto a carrier. She then assisted me in taking all of my stuff up to my room and even left me her key card so that I wouldn’t be without power in the apartment as my partner has our key cards. And that’s not to mention being greeted in my apartment by a block of chocolate and a personal welcome back card. I have never experienced a hotel manager be so hands on, friendly and genuinely kind. I have never been disappointed or let down by the service and/or warmth of Meriton Canberra. Thank you so much to the staff, your hard work does not go unnoticed and I will certainly be returning.
