We had a fantastic lunch at the Boomerang Hotel Pub. We ordered the steak sandwich, Cubano sandwich, and the Classic Chicken Caesar Wrap, and all three meals arrived quickly. The portion sizes were very generous and the prices were excellent. The steak sandwich was described as the best my brother-in-law has had in Mackay. My sister absolutely loved the Cubano sandwich, and she couldn't stop talking about the pepper gravy with the chips, saying it was the best she's had anywhere in Australia. I had the Classic Chicken Caesar Wrap, and it was delicious. Even though it was toasted, the wrap stayed light and fluffy. The egg was cooked perfectly, the Caesar dressing was well balanced—not overpowering—and there was just the right amount. The chips were also excellent, tasting like real potatoes with a great texture. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with music playing throughout. There are plenty of dining options to suit everyone, including the public bar, outdoor dining, and the restaurant/bistro area. We all enjoyed our meals along with an ice-cold beer. As an added bonus, my brother-in-law signed up to The Pass at Tour Local app and received $10 off his first order, which was a great surprise. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend the Boomerang Hotel Pub for great food, generous servings, friendly atmosphere, and excellent value.

I stayed here for 2 nights - to be fair I slept well but that was the only positive of the stay. In the morning I woke up and opened the blinds, to find that the window was boarded up and didn't exist (Room 6). The floor had lots of small insects on it and the bathroom was tiny. For $180/night it was really poor value and I would choose somewhere else when next in Mackay. Some colleagues were in cheaper hotels that night that were far better. I wouldn't recommend accommodations here to a friend.

During the visit to the Boomerang Motor Hotel' bar/restaurant, the establishment was relatively quiet. Due to ongoing kitchen renovations, all food was served on disposable tableware. The order was delivered in under 20 minutes. The beef burger and slider lacked flavor and did not meet expectations, but the chicken parmigiana was quite good. The sweet potato fries were enjoyable, though the portion size was small. The tables and the overall premises were clean and well-maintained.

Leila is by far the best barmaid we've ever been served by. She's always friendly, welcoming, and remembers her regular customers, making every visit enjoyable. Her customer service is exceptional, and she's a real credit to the Boomerang Hotel. She's one of the main reasons we love coming back.

My husband and I recently had lunch in the new beer garden at the Boomerang Hotel, and we were so impressed. The food was absolutely excellent, fresh, generous portions, and beautifully presented. Everything came out promptly and tasted fantastic. The service was just as good, friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being over the top. The new beer garden itself is such a great addition. It’s a lovely, cool space to sit back, enjoy a meal and a few drinks, and relax. What really stood out was being able to comfortably watch the kids in the play area while we enjoyed ourselves, it makes such a difference for families. A wonderful atmosphere all round. We’ll definitely be back!
