As a local of Airlie Beach, I’ve spent years exploring many of the islands and resorts throughout the Whitsundays, and Hayman Island stands out as the best of them all. The level of service from the staff was exceptional from start to finish. Every interaction felt genuine, professional, and attentive. The food was outstanding, with a fantastic variety of high-quality dining options, and the rooms and resort facilities were beautifully maintained and presented. What really sets Hayman apart is the incredible attention to detail in every aspect of the guest experience. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that no expense has been spared in creating a world-class resort. If you’re considering a Whitsundays getaway and wondering which resort to choose, Hayman Island will not disappoint. It truly delivers a luxury experience that exceeds expectations

We came in for a day pass on our sailing boat. $350 to stay at the marina and use the facilities from 10 to 4pm... the 4 of us were disappointed unfortunately. Very tired and not at all 5 star. We had lunch at Bam Bam and even ironed a collar shirt for the occasion! Don't bother its Cafe food and cafe atmosphere at best. Toilet was awful at the restaurant with black mould at the back of the sink! I had better comfort on my boat. We had an unnecessary expensive lunch and went back to the boat and moved on. No showers for guests, all but a cold water pool side shower for everyone... pretty poor. We have often gone past the Hayman Island international and thought how good it looked! It's all advertising. They need to do some work to bring it back.. sorry I couldn’t say anything better..

Certainly not a 5 star resort. Room service and cleaning was very poor. Room didn’t see a vacuum cleaner during the entire 4 night stay. We were in a breach front pool villa where sand can easily come into the room, but the cleaning team simply ignore and work around it. Room windows were not cleaned before check in, private pool had sand in it. Pool lounge area with bird excrement. I expect more when paying $1000-$1200+ per night. Check in experience is certainly not 5 star. There really is no excuse for rooms not being available when arriving to the island at 2-3pm. I completely agree with the reviews from others and the comments regarding breakfast service. This was completely lacking. The same kids running breakfast are working in the ‘restaurants’ at night and no one really knows what’s going on. The place is run by cheap labour, backpacker, working visa staff. I have no issue with backpacker working visa staff but if you’re going to claim that the resort is 5 star, you need profession staff with formal hospitality and customer service qualifications and experience - none of this was visible across the resort. The location is stunning but that does not automatically mean the resort should be 5 star. Much more effort is required for this to truly be the case.

My wife and I just had an amazing stay on Hayman Island for our first wedding anniversary. We stayed in a One Bedroom Pool View Suite for 3 nights. The rooms, like the rest of the property, are in great condition. Food was very good, we ate in each of the three restaurants and had breakfast every morning. The prices are what you'd expect for an island but that was something we looked at before we arrived. I want to say a massive thank you to Executive Chef Tony, Jorge and Isabelle who went above and beyond to ensure we had an incredible weekend and made every interaction feel genuine, professional and effortless. We will be back for sure!!

Professional staff attending every thing you need to make a memorable holiday, including the famous local Billy who's been serving for over 50 years, to including a fancy breakfast daily, specialised tours with bay veiws your eyes won't forget. Look out for the cute rock Wallabies, friendly birds and swim with sea creatures. Enjoy time out and time to your selves.
