Wonderful Experience: From the moment we arrived we knew we’d found something special. Our beautifully appointed apartment was spacious and overlooked a spectacular resort pool. The bed was very comfortable. The resort is well located, steps from the ferry and the $1 a day hop on hop off bus. We loved every minute on this stunning island. Particular thanks to Deb in reception who made us feel very special with her warm welcome and helpfulness - She really helped made our stay memorable. We enjoyed our welcome drink, upgrade and discounted dining with our Accor membership.

What a wonderful apartment we had for our family of 6. Well equipped, friendly service. A fantastic large pool for the kids to play in. The supermarket is next door and there is parking in the garage. We had a great stay here.

We stayed for two nights and were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment which was tastefully and luxuriously decorated and furnished. It was a large apartment with everything needed for self catering or just enjoying a relaxing holiday. It had views across to the marina. The grounds were landscaped nicely and the pool area was huge, clean and well maintained. The staff were welcoming, kind, friendly and most helpful. We had breakfast included with our deal and there was a good variety of food to choose from (buffet style) including many hot dishes. As it was off peak season, during the week, the hot buffet was not available but instead hot dishes could be ordered from a menu. We dined one night there and enjoyed a very tasty meal - Peppers offers the only fine dining option on the island. As it was our golden wedding anniversary we were treated to delicious desserts. Thanks so much. The waiting staff were also friendly and efficient and looked after us well. The resort is an ideal location - a short stroll from the ferry and close to a number of cafes and other eating options. The bus stop is at the ferry terminal so a car is not necessary. The buses cost $1 for an all day pass and takes you to the most popular bays of the island.

I had a lovely stay at Peppers Blue on Blue Resort. The location is excellent, right next to the ferry terminal at Nelly Bay, which makes it very convenient to access the island. The resort has a beautiful lagoon-style pool and relaxing marina views that create a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. While some areas of the rooms could use a little updating, overall it was a pleasant experience and a great place to relax while visiting Magnetic Island. We will be back❤️

I chose Peppers Blue on Blue expecting a premium resort experience, but unfortunately it fell well short of expectations, especially at around $630 per night for a two-bedroom apartment. The location is beautiful, but the resort itself feels tired and dated. The rooms look run down, the restaurant furniture feels like something from the mid-2000s, and the fake flowers on the restaurant tables do little to create the premium atmosphere you would expect from one of Magnetic Island’s supposedly premier resorts. The accommodation was the biggest disappointment. Only one of the two bedrooms had air conditioning, and the air conditioner in that room did not work. A lovely maintenance staff member eventually brought up and installed a portable unit, but because it had to vent outside, glass louvres were removed. Our room faced the main road near the ferry terminal, so once buses started operating from around 6:00 am, sleeping in was effectively impossible. The temporary solution left us choosing between a hot room and a noisy one. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of ownership from reception or management. Nobody came to apologise, check on us, follow up or offer any goodwill gesture. I also find it astonishing that a two-bedroom apartment in North Queensland, costing around $630 per night, does not have air conditioning in both bedrooms. Two friends could easily be paying around $315 each per night, only to discover that one gets an air-conditioned room and the other does not. The accommodation buildings also have no lifts. Luggage trolleys are available, but there is no concierge assistance, so guests with suitcases, prams, cots, eskies or bulky luggage should expect to carry everything up multiple flights of stairs. Service at the Boardwalk Restaurant and Bar was also disappointing. I phoned to ask what snacks were available between lunch and dinner because the menu was not online. There were only a handful of options, yet instead of simply telling me what they were, the staff member suggested I come down and look at the menu myself. Food and drink service was consistently slow, the beer selection was surprisingly limited for a waterfront bar in North Queensland, and the complimentary breakfast was extremely basic. I have honestly experienced better breakfast selections at mining camps. Even checkout was unnecessarily inconvenient. The car park access card is needed to exit, which means guests must drive out, park again, walk back inside and return the cards. A simple drop box near the exit would solve this. The one positive was being allowed to check in early at 11:00 am because the room was ready, and I genuinely appreciated that. Overall, the individual issues may seem small on their own, but together they created a clear impression that the guest experience simply is not at the centre of how this resort operates. For around $630 per night, I expected far better accommodation, service and attention to detail. Instead, the property felt dated, the service was underwhelming, problems were not properly owned, and too many parts of the experience seemed designed around what was easiest for the hotel rather than what was best for the guest. I also attempted twice to submit detailed feedback through the hotel’s own post-stay survey, but both attempts failed at submission. Magnetic Island itself is beautiful, but Peppers Blue on Blue was easily the most disappointing part of the trip. At this price point, I would recommend saving your money and staying elsewhere.
