Reviews for Duke Of Edinburgh

The Duke was once was a good place to eat. It has dropped its standards since late last years visit, pretty average unfortunately. I ordered the chicken Parma which included the salad and the sweet potatoes. Salad was pretty dry, in fact there was no dressing on it and it was bland, the quarter piece of tomato they provided was so dry and most of my sweet potatoes I ordered instead of the normal potato fry’s were very well done and burnt. The 3 margarita pizzas we ordered were unsatisfactory as well, very average in fact. The Duke also had a flyer advertising the raspberry spritz for a full glass for $12. I bought two at the bar and the lady behind the bar gave me half a glass ! I said to her the the flyer showed a full glass and she did not respond in fact misleading. Food compared to last year was very dissapointing. The gentleman taking our order was really nice and the positioning of our table was good but unfortunately that’s where it ended. Will not be going back in a hurry ! Cheers guys.

I always stop at The Duke for lunch when I'm back in Melbourne. The lunch specials are fantastic value for money, and the portions are huge. Plus, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great, full of interesting local characters.

Had lunch here today. Had chicken caesar salad without anchovies. It came with them even after telling me there wasn't any. Disappointed. Parking is awful. Our car covered in bird poo from park out the back. Watch the parking inspector he is very strict with where you park. Although there is no sign to say there is restricted parking for people with permits.

As a visitor from another state. It was my first time in the pokie area. Honestly I have never come across regarding staffing so unprofessional. Not one staff made you feel welcome or at ease. Often I found them behind their work counter having group chats & laughing rather loudly.. When I approached them for some assistance, the look I get was’ annoyed expression & judging me ‘. Eventually when they did help, it felt like it was a big ask by going from their face/body language. Twice during my visit I informed them a couple of men were playing on 2 machines at one time. Staff member ask did I want the machine. My reply was no, therefore she just turned her back on me. Also no staff goes around checking all the ‘ reserve ‘ signs’ . Many are on machines for half hr to 1hr. & these culprits are the regulars customers. Whom I felt un ease as they think they own the machines & can be quite rude . I would never recommend this pokie place until it changes the the staffing work ethics..
