We had a pleasant enough stay here. The staff were nice enough, and the reception/cafe area has a nice feel to it. The location in geographic terms is excellent, though the positives probably end there, with the positioning of the hotel problematic in other ways. This new hotel has an incredibly soulless feel to it, largely due to the fact that is surrounded in very close proximity by other buildings, which house office workers and the like. Our window 'view' comprised of a building that was some 2/3 metres or so away from the window. We couldn't leave our curtain open as we did not know who could see what. There are some internal facing rooms, which seem to cost more, but as we walked to our lift we could easily see into these rooms so again, there is a privacy issue here. The lack of facilities like a pool add to the sense of a very claustrophobic atmosphere and stay. The less said about the room the better. With new/newer Holiday Inns in particular it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish between the Holiday Inn brand, its lower tier Holiday Inn Express and other lower tier competitors like Ibis. There was a large TV available, but otherwise the overall design and aesthetic of the room felt far too similar to those lower tier options. The wall operated lighting system in the room is bizarre, with no simple option to keep a small lamp on next to the bed (the 'night light' option over the bed is far too bright). The Holiday Inn really needs to also go beyond placing a simple kettle and coffee sachets in the room that ensure you feel time locked in the 1970s. The bathroom had a nicer feel to it, but a shame there is no bath or even rainshower option available. Could do much better, especially on the overall design front.

Really great location & super clean rooms. Staff were friendly, especially the GSA Wenky who checked me in. Buffet breakfast was nice & also love that the hotel is right next door to the big mecca. Will absolutely recommend this hotel to friends & family. I would recommend signing up for IHG membership as it makes a late check-out possible if they have availability on the day. 🫶

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The check in process was seamless, and I was afforded early check in by the wonderful Shakya which was incredibly generous. The room was neat and tidy, the bathroom was a great size as well. I loved the toiletries the hotel provides, I will be buying some for myself! A choice of soft and firm pillows, with a pillow menu that has many more options. The housekeeping staff were very accommodating as well. The location was absolutely perfect. It was so easy to get everywhere I needed to go. The breakfast buffet was probably one of the best ones I've had. The selection was great, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in Melbourne. Thank you to all the staff.

Great location - Bourke St Mall is literally just outside (biggest Mecca in the world, JD Sports, H&M, Zara, 6 floor David Jones and Myers, historic barbershop and tearooms, Flying Tiger, Miniso etc). Staff were friendly and helpful; they booked taxis for me and my room was ready to check in at 11am. The room itself was spacious, clean and modern. The bed was fairly comfortable. You need to request vanity kits, shower caps etc at reception. The breakfast buffet was pretty good - bacon, eggs, toast, delicious pastries, fruit, Poke bowl station, muesli etc. There is a water bottle refill station but I really wish there had been the option to purchase bottled water or even have a complimentary water bottle upon arrival. The kids Explorer pack is really cool. There are no pools, spas etc. The gym is well equipped and my room was very warm which was nice. Quiet rooms and lobby for such a busy central location. There are many trams passing by which you didnt hear inside. The price was great for the location, approx $600 for 3 nights.

Good location central of everywhere. Price was competitive even though there was the F1. Frank ensured every thing went smoothly from check in to even showing me how to get to the race site from the hotel. Highly rated even though its a new hotel, everyone is trained well from alighting the uber to finding the lobby.
