We had the most magical wedding at Melrose Events in the Hudson Room on Saturday, 25 April 2026. A particular shout out to Zach, Christina, and the entire Melrose team for making our night so special with their amazing service. We also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Mara, Zoe, Andreas, and the chef, all of whom assisted us throughout the lead up to the big day and contributed to an incredible experience. The Melrose team were so flexible and brought our vision to life. Our guests have been raving about the event room, exceptional food, drinks and service on the night. And not to forget to mention, the Hudson Room is absolutely stunning! It is modern, elegant, and the perfect space for our wedding. We enjoyed so much dancing, and our guests were comfortably seated around the dance floor with a beautiful view of the chandelier light fitting. We are so grateful to the entire team for giving us a fantastic wedding evening we will never forget.

Attended the 50th anniversary celebration of the Church of the Good Shepherd dinner dance. Been a few years since we last attended this venue and were pleasantly surprised. Greatly improved catering and the venue is creatively renovated. It was a great night of celebration, dancing and delicious food. Highly recommend this venue for functions due to its location, greatly improved catering, polite and helpful staff. All credit to the organisers from The Church of the Good Shepherd and also the Management and staff at Melrose Events for putting up an excellent show.

The newly transformed Hudson Room at Melrose Events offers an exquisite balance of grandeur and intimacy, perfect for weddings, corporate functions, receptions, and private celebrations. Located just six kilometres from Melbourne Airport with easy access via the Tullamarine Freeway, the venue is ideal for both local and interstate guests.
Seamlessly elegant in design, the Hudson Room features classic wainscoting throughout the space, an immaculate chandelier that is unique beyond words, and a marbled bar that embodies a bold sense of maximalist luxury. Guests are welcomed by the finest carpet, designed exclusively by the directors, complemented by a marble-inspired dance floor that sets the stage for unforgettable celebrations. The architecture also boasts a massive private bridal suite, a private entrance with grand statement doors, and a spectacular fireplace, all combining to create a venue that is both breathtaking and timeless.
Grand Ballroom Mezzanine
The Grand Ballroom Mezzanine sits above the main ballroom at Melrose Events, a refined space with a view over the room below. Completely refurbished alongside the rest of the venue, it suits events that want scale nearby without needing the full ballroom footprint.
It works as a standalone space for cocktail functions, VIP areas, product launches and smaller social celebrations, and just as well as a breakout or VIP overflow running alongside a larger event downstairs. It suits smaller groups and breakout spaces best, generally between 30 and 60 people.
New finishes, updated lighting and flexible AV setups carry through from the main refurbishment, so the space can shift from a seated dinner to a standing cocktail event without missing a beat. The Mezzanine also has its own private bar, so drinks service runs independently of the main ballroom below.
180 free onsite car spaces, no music curfew and a licence to 1am apply across the venue, including the Mezzanine. A dedicated events team and in house culinary team handle the detail, so you can focus on the day itself.
