We had booked 2 family rooms which we thought meant interconnecting rooms. When we arrived we were given x2 rooms on the same floor but at complete opposite ends. The corridors weave around so it felt like a very long way. I was absolutely shocked to find a man standing half naked in one of the rooms we had been allocated. We brought the issue up with staff, who were able to provide interconnecting rooms which was great as we did have children. A bit unnerving to think someone could walk into your room at any time. The staff were not overly apologetic at the time, and said they were not sure how it had happened.even the house keeping staff member who came to unlock our interconnecting door, said he had never heard of someone else walking in on someone like we did, and appeared quite surprised this had happened to us. We did come back to our room later on to a bottle of wine and a small box of chocolates. Hotel was also exceptionally busy. Corridors quite noisy with kids running around and people talking loudly. Not a lot of sound proofing. It is definitely family friendly and the little freezer with zooper doopers for the kids was a nice touch. Not sure id book again given the above.

I never saw clean glasses by the water cooler with the lemons & oranges. Always left with dirty glasses. When I finally was able to retrieve a clean glass from the bar I was surprised to taste that the water was warm, not cool or cold. On my second day I had so much difficulty trying to order room service. No one answered the phone, operator didn’t answer & also the reception. I had to call the outside main line & select that I was calling to make a booking just to get someone to answer. I had two food trays stacked at my for a whole day and evening with no one collecting them. They were still there on the morning I checked out. Very disappointing. I was expecting better. My friend & I had ordered coffee at the bar on our arrival. After waiting for 30 minutes I glanced up at the bar staff to see them standing around chatting, one of them kept sneaking off behind the side door sipping a drink. I went up to ask how much longer we had to wait to find out that they had forgotten, even though I had paid for them there

We stayed 2 nights for a city “staycation” to do Christmassy things. The location was great. Central to everything we wanted to do. A quick walk to most places. The room was comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast had a lot of options and was very tasty. Staff were polite and efficient and doing a great job with the hotel being so busy. I think it was around my 6th stay and the Novotel Collins street. I’m sure I will stay there again in the future

Rooms were comfy and bright, the bed was soft, better than the Marriott I would say, and that charges $300 a night, I paid just half of that. Very clean, but the TV looks pretty old fashioned, could do with an upgrade, which I've heard is a renovation coming soon. My stay was excellent, staff were friendly, helpful and housekeeping was amazing. Everything was thought for. I would reccomend to anyone.

What I loved: We stayed in an accessible room and the bedroom was lovely and spacious with plenty of room to manoeuvre. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious and had grab bars alongside the toilet, bath, and shower. The bath was low and easy to transfer into, and the shower has a bench attached to the wall. The Building itself is in an excellent location, and was overall very quiet and clean. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, and we had a really nice time. We didn't try much of the food because the hotel is so close to so many wonderful resturants that we mostly ate out, but we did order roomservice once and can confirm it was absolutely delicious. What I didn't love: Unfortunately, while the bathroom doorframe and door were built to code, they were installed in such a way that my 780mm chair couldn't fit through the doorway. This was a real bummer (and caused me unnecessary pain), but I'm ambulatory enough that I could make it work. If your chair is similar in width to mine or wider I would call ahead and double check that it'll fit in the room you're considering. It should be an easy fix and I mentioned it to staff at the time so hopefully they've already addressed this- I'm hoping it was just a one off error. Also, if you're like me and like to bathe at odd hours, I strongly reccomend double checking that there's a plug for the bath before you transfer into the tub at 2am because oh my was I disappointed to have to crawl out and head for the shower instead🤦♀️
