This place is such a cool find. Hidden inside an old flour mill, and the setting alone is worth the visit. The Detroit-style pizza is unreal, thick but airy, super crispy edges, and packed with flavour. Each slice feels filling without being heavy, and the caramelised cheese edges are addictive. Great spot to bring someone who loves trying something different or appreciates a bit of food history with their meal. Definitely one of those places you’ll want to come back to and bring friends next time.
Crispy caramelized deep pan Detroit style pizza now available at this hidden gem which just opened in Feb 2026. Currently a stylish café by day and serving take away pizza by night under the brand 9Mile. Indoor space is very cozy and there's an outdoor area at ground level plus a rooftop space for events. Fingers crossed they get their licence to serve pizza and wine in-house at night soon 🙏🏻
This is NOT authentic Detroit style pizza. I've been to Detroit and tried all the best places. If you want real Detroit style - go to Deep End in Fitzroy. Silo 9 is claiming to be "Melbourne's first Detroit pizza" which is simply a lie. Deepend have been doing it for over a year!
I had a beautiful latte, along with an egg and BLT roll. The fluffy bread, perfectly fried egg, crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato... absolutely perfect. Both were so delicious. There was relaxing music playing inside, and the soft morning light was gently streaming in from the window-side seats.I love the cozy and warm interior with the whites and wood tones. It’s a great place to unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you're coming from the city by public transport, I recommend taking the tram and bus (Dynon Rd → Lloyd St → Lennon St) to reach this spot. Or maybe you can only take a bus. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and thanks to them, today is off to a great start. Highly recommended.
@silo.nine 📍 MUST VISIT New Hidden underneath a restored Industrial Flour Mill - love the aesthetic vibes of this gem for locals in this unassuming location 🏭✨☕️ The refurbished space looks so cosy and welcoming. Their in house bake shop looks incredible & their @stremiocoffee is excellent. They offer a range of wines too with plans to open in the evening in the future 🍷 ☕️ Offering 100 free coffees for their opening on 14 Oct 2024✨ Google maps needs better directions but best to get there from Lloyd St- plenty of onsite car park available. Must come back for breakfast but currently only open on weekdays 😭.
