We ventured in for Friday Lunch and welcomed by friendly staff. We ordered Mac & Cheese Croquettes as starters which were delicious. For mains we ordered Roast Pumpkin Salad. The salad was nice but very light on with the maple tahini dressing otherwise it would be delicious. We also ordered 250g Yarra Valley Rump Steak. Steak was cooked well and was tender.

I must say the food was amazing. We loved Parma, Lamb Pies, Fish and Drinks. Service was cheerful and friendly We always love to come here for a drink and meal...but tonight on a cold night it was extra special for some reason. Live music was a lovely touch too.

We had our Lunch there. The salads were excellent the prices were affordable and the drinks selection was notable. When hot better to sit inside. The curtains hold heat in at the outside alfresco area

General Assembly in South Wharf is a solid option for lunch, especially if you are already in the area shopping at DFO or attending something at the convention centre nearby. I came here for lunch with a colleague and it definitely seems popular with a mix of tourists and professionals working in the surrounding offices. Service was quick to start with but did slow down a bit as the venue got busier. The food was nice and there was a good variety on the menu, which was great as my colleague is vegetarian. I am not vegetarian, but the mushroom skewers were actually a standout and really delicious. I also had the salt and pepper calamari which I enjoyed. I also like that the menu works well whether you are ordering individual meals or sharing a few dishes across the table, which makes it a flexible option depending on the occasion. On a sunny day the vibe here is really lovely, especially sitting outside overlooking the Yarra River. I ordered an espresso martini which was nice, although at $21 it did feel a little on the expensive side. That said, the pricing does seem to reflect the location and the typical crowd that visits. It would also work well for families. There is plenty of table space, room for prams and a menu that caters to a wide range of preferences. Overall a good, reliable spot in a great location, particularly if you are already in South Wharf. If you’re catching public transport you can easily get here via the 96 or 109 tram, get off at the casino and walk along the boardwalk or if driving plenty of paid parking available at the MCEC and DFO car parks.
