We caught the Ferry from Portarlington specifically to dine and stay at the Savoy. The Alexander Bar is wonderful with Bar Manager Gerard knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. The hotel is classy, very classy. Food is reasonably priced and great quality. Loved our room with spectacularly good water pressure in the shower.

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Savoy Hotel. We arrived very early and the staff were so accommodating in holding our bags - so we could begin shopping and return when our room was ready. The staff were so kind and thoughtful and even sent a little birthday cake and note up to our room for my daughter - she was so thrilled! Our room was spacious and comfortable and we both had a great sleep. Close proximity to all the shops, our dinner reservation at Crown and the station for our train home. We could walk everywhere we needed to go. Perfect

The room was the biggest let down of the experience, the staff were friendly especially the concierge was amazing. The menu for room service was very average and there was no printed menu or phone in our room. Our room faced the inside lobby, no windows with natural light, the curtains were not shear enough to feel like we could have them open without people seeing into our room from the corridor. The room had no table or chairs to eat or rest at, only a small wobbly office table in the corner with a stained office chair. The bathroom had no where to put a toiletry bag, no hooks for hanging anything, no drinking glasses, no shower curtain to stop water going everywhere. Our face towels were not replaced, our milk was not refilled the next day, you could not fill the jug in the sink or waterbottles, there was no cutlery other than 2 tea spoons. The tiles on the floor in the bathroom were horrendously laid. I don't think the fan in the bathroom was working well, The lighting in the room was terrible and the door between the next room and ours were both unlocked. It was a very disappointing room for the price per night. I would not go back to this hotel just based on the room.

A Timeless Gem in the Heart of Melbourne – The Savoy Hotel From the moment you step into The Savoy Hotel on Little Collins Street, you’re wrapped in a cocoon of elegance and warmth. The building itself is a masterpiece, heritage architecture meets modern sophistication, with soaring ceilings, art deco flourishes, and a lobby that whispers old-world charm while winking at contemporary luxury. The ambience is Impeccably curated. Whether you're sipping a quiet morning coffee or winding down after a day in the city, every corner feels like a hug in velvet. Soft lighting, plush textures, and a gentle hum of city life just beyond the doors it’s cosy without being cloistered, refined without being rigid. But what truly elevates the experience is the staff. From front desk to housekeeping, every interaction is marked by genuine warmth and professionalism. They don’t just serve, they anticipate. Whether it’s a thoughtful room upgrade, a local dining tip, or a perfectly timed smile, the service is seamless and sincere. Rooms are a sanctuary: well-appointed, whisper-quiet, and designed for comfort. You’ll find yourself lingering longer than planned, wrapped in crisp linens and soft throws, with Melbourne’s skyline peeking through the windows. Excellent service. I really felt welcomed in a genuine way. There was a minor issue with the aircon and in my room and a staff member came and fixed it immediately. Room was spacious, bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the blackout curtains. Location was perfect. Just across from the train station.
