An interesting mix between a more straight forward pub and a gastropub. I popped in before an after an errand in the area, not knowing it very well. It was a welcome respite on a muggy day. This is quite close to public transport, in a more leafy part of Footscray a bit away from the main drag. The snack food I tried was decent but the prices are very gastropub. This establishment is part of the ubiquitous Pass ecosystem from Australian Venue Co, so the standard QR code ordering system, macro brews and loyality points come with that same package. The addition of power bank rentals at the entrance is also quite welcome. There's a nice lush use of decor in the main bar. There's a small courtyard. The beer garden looked quite large as well, possibly the largest I've seen in Melbourne. Another dedicated dining area is at the back, looking quite lush. It was hard to judge the vibe when it was an initial weekday afternoon pop in, a later weekend visit didn't have too many people. Both times felt pretty cruisy. The staff were very friendly and helped me with with a misapprehension I had with the Pass app. Overall a great visit and recommended if in the area.

Service was outstanding! A huge Thank you to Jack for creating a safe and very friendly environment. He was happy to teach us some insight of the amazing steak that we ate and some history of the station hotel. A massive Thank You to Will who served us with such professionalism a beautiful manner and a very welcoming way. Will you made us feel very comfortable in every way possible. You looked after us above and beyond and made us feel very special. Food was out standing! I would highly recommend the station hotel for all occasions with its ambience atmosphere and wonderful staff. Thank You to all the staff for creating a wonderful place to celebrate with our family.

Very expensive but mediocre steaks, not worth the money at all. We also tried the fish and chips and the chicken parma. The Parma was dry and not very good, but the fish and chips is okay. Service was average, though they made a lot of mistakes and accidentally gave us other orders. Setting is very family friendly though. Always has space not really booked out. Has a large seating area out the back as well with the playground so very child friendly.

The Station Hotel is always spot on. The steaks are consistently cooked to perfection — tender, full of flavour, and exactly what you’d hope for every time. And the sticky date pudding? Easily the best around. Reliable, quality food and great service make this place a go to every time.

Exceeded all expectations! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We visited for a Christmas lunch and were blown away by the experience. Every dish was perfectly cooked and flavorful. What truly stood out was the impeccable service; Nikki was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The holiday ambiance was the cherry on top. We will definitely be back!
