The Timber Yard is Melbourne's largest exclusive-use event venue, purpose-built for corporate events that need room to think bigger. Set on 6,000sqm in the Port Melbourne industrial precinct, the site combines four distinct spaces, The Warehouse, The Yard, The Workshop and The Wood Store, but here's what sets us apart. When you book The Timber Yard, you get the entire venue. There's no sharing floors with another function, no carving up capacity between separate bookings. Every space, from the 1,400sqm warehouse to the 1,000sqm turfed outdoor area, is yours for the day.
We've recently invested $3 million into the venue, refurbishing key spaces and installing state-of-the-art AV, including a permanent stage and a 9m LED screen. That means your conference, product launch, EOY function or company milestone gets broadcast-quality sound and vision without the cost or complexity of building it from scratch. Our in-house AV team runs it all seamlessly, so your team can focus on the event, not the tech.
Built from reclaimed timber and steel with a heritage rooted in second-hand storage and fabrication, The Timber Yard brings warmth and character that a hotel ballroom or standard function centre can't match, without compromising on the scale or professionalism corporate events demand. Whether you're hosting 50 people in The Wood Store or 1,500 across the full site, you get exclusive access to a landmark venue built for events of real ambition.

The Timber Yard is built on the philosophy of recycling, up cycling and bringing people together for amazing events. Located on 6,000 sqm, in the Port Melbourne industrial precinct, The site has been restored, remaining true to its heritage of second hand timber storage and fabrication. The Timber Yard is an urban sanctuary designed to bring the flavour and personality of the country into the city. We cater for all types of events including Corporate, Private, Expos, Markets, Weddings and Live music. Our in house AV team can also assist you to deliver complete end to end production services such as draping, staging, presentations, concerts and all your lighting requirements to elevate your event. You will have exclusive access to the venue for your event, inc. allocated bump in/ bump out
The Warehouse
Our largest enclosed event space, suited to any amazing occasion. Decorated with reclaimed timber, tools and pockets of greenery. Make each space as big or small as you like to suit your event. The warehouse has floor to ceiling drapes that can section off areas to creat for intimate affairs.
The Workshop
Our smallest enclosed space, where all the furniture fabrication used to occur. Ideally suited to smaller conference break out room , a wedding ceremony space, or as brand activations. All spaces are customisable with maximum capacities shown below.
The Wood Store
Our long, thin, undercover structure where wood was once stored to dry. Ideally suited to conference style, long table seated, or fashion runway events. All spaces are customisable with maximum capacities shown below.
The Yard
Our lush, turfed outdoor area perfect for a wedding ceremony, product launch, car show or beer garden / cocktail styled event. Set on 1000sqm this space includes a full service outdoor bar. Make each space as big or small as you like to suit your event. All spaces are customisable with maximum capacities shown below.
Meeting Room 1
Our smallest green room, equipped with couches, kitchenette, adjoining toilet and shower. Ideal for keynote speakers, performers or key staff. All spaces are customisable with maximum capacities shown below.
Meeting Room 2
Our large upstairs meeting room, perfect for a VIP space, boardroom, private dining, or bridal/groom suite. It has the most amazing view of the rear warehouse. All spaces are customisable with maximum capacities shown below.

What a great venue and an awesome tailgate party for the Super Bowl. The Timberyard is spacious and extremely clean and with different spaces. The food and drinks were constantly flowing and tasty . Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Had a great variety of entertainment. We had a fantastic day and will definitely be back for next year.10/10

Been here twice now to see Meduza then Will Sparks. Both great nights. Such a cool venue. Only downside for me was that the toilets are in one place only, would be ideal to have two locations.

We cannot speak highly enough of The Timber Yard for our wedding. The venue was absolutely beautiful, with amazing staff and clean facilities. Taylah was spectacular to deal with, and made the process so easy. Our families were so impressed and we just felt so comfortable there. There are not enough words - thank you so much!

Nice good size stage. Good sound and light systems. Humongous out door space. Neat and tidy toilets. Rooms to get ready for plays. Heating is very comfortable. Undercover area is huge on top of main hall.

Came here for a candlelight concert event and was picture perfect. The street parking is free and no restrictions during the evening, but recommend coming here at least 45 mins early to get the best spots. Venue looks clean, new and well decorated. Toilets are clean and plenty of urinals. The bar has plenty of drink options and various beers on tap (furphy, cider, other pale ale options). The venue inside is spacious, but keep in mind no air conditioning, so if the weather is warm wear something light!
