★★★☆☆ I specifically chose Crowne Plaza Perth because I needed a hotel with on-site parking. Booking.com stated that parking needed to be reserved, so before making my decision I actually called the hotel to confirm. My calls were answered by IHG’s overseas call centre. On my first call, the representative didn’t seem to understand that I was specifically asking about reserving on-site hotel parking. I called again, and the second representative clearly told me that no booking was required and parking was simply first come, first served. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told the opposite — the on-site parking did need to be booked, and there were no spaces available. This was particularly frustrating because parking was one of the main reasons I chose this property. Had I been given the correct information when I called, I simply would have booked another hotel. The hotel itself is also quite dated, which I could already see from the photos before booking. The room was as expected — older, a little smelly and stuffy, and the bathroom certainly felt well past its prime. Cleanliness and ventilation could also be improved. I happened to stay on a very expensive night due to a conference in Perth, which made the overall experience even poorer value, and unfortunately me and my family didn’t have a particularly comfortable night’s sleep. I understand large hotel groups outsource customer service to overseas call centres to manage costs, but if those representatives are giving guests information that directly affects their booking decisions, they really need to be properly trained and have access to accurate information about the individual hotel. The positive was the local reception staff. The staff member who assisted me at the hotel was very helpful and professional, and I would give the on-site staff 5 stars for service. Overall: 5/5 – Local reception staff 2/5 – Hotel facilities and room 1/5 – Overseas call centre / pre-arrival information Unfortunately, the incorrect parking information significantly affected my stay and is the main reason I can only give the hotel 3 stars.

Very Beautiful Balcony View and Good Room Service I love my hotel room service which I had request for one latex pillow and one boomerang pillow and also one bowl for my instant noodles. And I also get my room number by phone message from Alex, your hotel manager way earlier than my 2 pm check in time. All the staff and Manager including the meeting of your GM Thomas all are very friendly and helpful. My 2 nights stay with balcony is so beautiful I can see Langley park from the comfort of my room and my balcony.

Love what they have done to the rooms!! Colour palette brilliant. We had a room on the 12th floor and it was wonderful being able to sit on the balcony watching the Swan River! Checking In was a breeze, they had the room ready and waiting for us. LOVE how the breakfast has changed. And being greeted every morning by Philip and his team. Nothing was too much for them to ensure our breakfast was a great start to the day. The weather in Perth was just a bonus!!

This has got to be one of the most dismal service we have encountered across 30-50 hotels worldwide. Guests are made to feel unwelcome from start to finish. The only redeeming quality i guess is that the price for a party of 5 is quite close to that of airbnb for a short 1 night stay. We stayed here at room 309 on 12-13 Aug. There is a large no waiting/stopping sign outside the lobby, so good luck to those who are driving cars. Guests checking in should be allowed 5-10mins to stop at the side. Not a single staff came to assist with bringing even the luggage trolley car to us. The lift is barely wide enough to fit the trolley, and we really struggled to maneuver it in and out. I understand from Mr Alex, front office manager that late check out isnt provided at the hotel. The staff seem to be unmotivated and unfriendly. Amongst the many times we came in and out of the hotel, we were only greeted once half-heartedly. The hotel is long overdue for a renovation/refresh, especially the 80s-style white square tiles. The latch for the vanity cabinet below the bathroom tap is broken and behold it was a horrifying reveal of nasty old pipes. What the hotel has in its favour is it's great location and that the rooms and hotel lobby were really clean. There's also complimentary laundry for guests but we didn't utilise it.

Wonderful people here making clients feel at home. Great cooked breakfast and always a friendly welcome by Phil and his colleagues. Great location in East Perth with lovely views over the Swan River if you have a river view room. Not the biggest, nor the most luxurious hotel but will definitely return for the atmosphere!
