First things first: the hotel staff were fantastic! The reception and breakfast team were super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Unfortunately, that was the only good thing about this hotel. We ran into issues even before arriving: I specifically selected a Flex Member Rate, which only allowed free cancellation up to one month prior—ridiculous for a flex rate to begin with. One week before our stay, after receiving cancellations in our group, I asked if we could move our reservation forward by one night. The hotel was not fully booked on either night, yet management refused. Moving our stay one night earlier or later would have made zero difference to them, making this response completely incomprehensible. This was the only hotel on our 4-week East Coast trip that charged for parking—20 AUD per night—with very few spaces available. The bathroom design is terribly impractical: a single sliding door shared between the shower and the toilet. You can either close off the shower from the toilet or the toilet from the room, but not both at the same time. At 11:30 PM, the TV suddenly turned itself on. We had never used it, and the remote was untouched on a table. It was likely an automatic system update, but it woke us up out of nowhere. A 3:00 PM check-in paired with a 10:00 AM check-out is an unreasonably restrictive time frame. Opt for smaller hotels or local accommodations instead—they are consistently better. A deeply disappointing experience with Holiday Inn!
Good location. The room is clean and comfortable. We stayed on a weekend so avoided paying for parking by parking in a free street space. The biggest downside is the bathroom because it’s only Separated from the the bedroom by a glass wall and curtain the light shines fully into the bedroom. So when my friend got up To use it at night it woke me up by shining through. The breakfast that was included was decent.
From the second you walk in they overcharge for everything. Parking your car down the street at $15 per day because even though they built the hotel from the ground up they decided not to make enough room for guests. If you do get your car in there, the hotel charges you an additional $20 per day. To park at the hotel you just overpaid for. They charge for room service unless you’d like to go pick it up yourself and the food is awful. The breakfast is awful (I was warned by many other patrons) and they charge $20 for that too. Reception is inside an actual bar. They work surrounded by liquor bottles and you compete with bar patrons to reach reception. And yes, overpriced terrible drinks. Facilities are ok but I will never stay again as I don’t want to get nickel and dimed over an already WAY OVERPRICED FOR WHAT IT IS hotel. 0/10
Enjoyed the two night stay. The only real disappointment was the evening meals. They really aren't running a proper restaurant service. Very limited choice and the meals are effectively room service standard. Redeemed in part by a good breakfast service.
paid parking if you have a vehicle. theres a laundry room at the top floor so thats handy, although it only takes coins, no cards or eftpos. breakfast was good, and price of the stay was good. rooms are modern and clean. they have room service but very limited food choices.
